Mercedes Sprinter 315 MWB, left-hand drive
* Left-hand drive campervan project *
Very reluctantly putting up for sale my ongoing campervan project due to running out of the funds to finish.
The base is a medium wheelbase Sprinter 315 (3.5 tonne, 150 BHP, 6-speed manual). Imported and registered in the UK, being LHD it is ready for those Europe trips, while driving in the UK really is not a problem. 277k km = 172k miles, probably not even half-way through its life.
It is packed with lots of factory options highly desirable for a camper:
* Air Conditioning
* Cruise Control
* Auxiliary Diesel Heater (pre-warms the engine and can be extended to heat the living compartment)
* Auxiliary Battery with Split-Charge Relay
* Suspension Driver’s Seat
* Sliding Doors on Both Sides
* Single Passenger’s Seat (allowing passage between cabin and living compartment)
Bad points:
* Some non-structural rust and various paint imperfections. A lot of the rust has been addressed and sealed with epoxy primer. The plan was to treat the remainder and re-paint the whole van with matched Raptor Liner – lots of tutorials out there how to neatly do it at home without a compressor.
* Tyres running low but rather than changing them and inflating the price, I’m leaving the buyer the option of going for cheap ones, or maybe the BF Goodrich All Terrains if they fancy!
Work done over the 2 years I had it:
* Entire rear end braking system replaced, incl. copper pipe from front to rear
* Original Valeo alternator refurbished with new brushes and bearings
Meticulously done towards the conversion:
* Solid Wood Floor, Kingspan-insulated
* Wood-cladded Ceiling, Lambswool-insulated
* 300W Monocrystalline Solar Panel
* Victron MPPT Charge Controller
* Third battery for Living Compartment, charged by solar
* Custom Aluminium Roof Rack
* Maxxfan Deluxe Rainproof Automatic Ventilation
* Dometic Smev Sink + Double Hob Kitchen Unit
* Panels sound deadened
* Wind deflectors
Further work is clearly required but a lot of time and money has been spent already, giving the buyer a solid ‘blank canvas’ and sparing A LOT of effort (believe me).
I am including the rest of the high quality flooring and cladding which will allow you to finish the walls, and there may be some spare for furniture.
Will be sad to see it go, but hey ho. Hope it lands with someone who is keen to finish it and enjoy the adventures.
Priced so I can break even but will consider reasonable offers. Located on the Isle of Wight! Happy to answer any questions. Cheers!
Provision made for a platform-style bed, affixed to the sidewalls of the van with no need for vertical supports.
