Conversion Description

Meet Tallulah, our wonderful LWB medium-top stealth transit camper. We’re both veterinary surgeons and converted her while our new jobs in Australia were put on Covid Sabbatical.

We put a lot of time and effort into her, and in the last year have had so much fun traveling all over the UK in her, from lochside stays in the Isle of Skye to snow-covered breaks in the peak district.
She genuinely drives like a dream, never feeling clunky and heavy in the same manner as her diesel equivalents. She is a rare bi-fuel van, fitted at the time of manufacture by Ford. The LPG system offers excellent mileage and petrol can be used as a backup if needed (seamless switching between the two). She has been painted with Rustoleum in anthracite grey, and although she is fitted with solar panels and roof windows, from street level is very stealthy and maintains the appearance of a panel van. This has allowed us to stay in locations your standard camper couldn’t.

The 4 x leisure batteries, split charger, and solar panel combination allows us to live completely off-grid for a week while charging laptops, phones, and other small accessories.

Fixed double-sized bed with a memory foam mattress. During the day the bed retracts to a lounging area (pictured) and extends to a full 4’6″ x 6’3″ when required. The picture of the extended bed will not upload unfortunately so here a description.; Popping up the cupboard under the bed and locking its feet into position forms a level platform with the seating area and bed frame. The cut portion of the mattress that is a lounging backrest in the day then zips securely into the main mattress and is covered with the topper – voila, full-size double bed. I’m not over-egging the pudding here when I say it’s more comfortable than our bed at home!
