Conversion Description

I am pleased to present to you my 2000 Reg Toyota Hiace 2.5 non turbo diesel engine campervan. She has very low mileage for her age at 111,500. She has rear barn door opening doors and sliding door access. These Hiace engines are extremely reliable and will go on forever – you can easily get half a million miles from these vans if looked after. I have never had a problem with this van, engine is extremely reliable. The cab is in really good condition- however, there is a tear in the drivers seat which is expected with a van of this age, the passenger door only unlocks from the inside. She comes complete with full cab window coverings. She also comes with original radio with cassette player and has a cigarette lighter port which doubles up as a USB charging port. No central locking. She is a manual with 5 gears. It has 3 belted seats in the front (middle seat has a lap strap).

The van has only driven a few thousand miles each year and has been well looked after by me and the previous owner, he was a mobile mechanic. It has part service history (2 years) and really good MOT history. The timing belt was changed at 100k miles.

This is a beautifully handcrafted, one of a kind, Toyota Hiace campervan conversion. I lovingly crafted this in 2020 into a 2 berth campervan. I have added in the near side and offside windows, with the offside window opening. There is also a handy skylight at the rear of the van which opens up and has a black out blind and fly net incorporated. The van is fully insulated with recycled plastic insulation and vapour barrier and is very warm on the colder night adventures. It also has sound deadening throughout the inside metal work of the van. It has been finished with tongue and groove cladding that has been white washed painted for the rustic ‘beach look’. The interior compromises of soft tone colours with a large L shape seating area and was built with storage in mind for practicalities. It comes with a 2 hob gas stove cooker and 4.5kg Butane Calor Gas Bottle (full), X2 20L grey and fresh water tanks under sink, beautiful copper tap with Whale foot pump (foot pumps are an excellent way of saving water), square sink big enough to wash up large pots and pans, X1 15L drinking water storage container, large work top with left side extension when sliding door is open, the gas cooker can also be moved out onto this extension for outside cooking too. The bed pulls out into a slightly wider than UK standard double bed (132cmX187cm) with a 3inch foam mattress topped with a 2inch memory foam for comfort. I added in a pull out extension to rear of the bed when the barn doors are open, so that you are able to lay in bed with your head out of the back of the van to watch the stars/clouds for ultimate relaxation. There is also a pull out table at the rear to hold drinks etc. There is a pull up table on hinges inside the van for inside dining which can be used when the bed is away. It also comes with a Thetford 345 Porta-Potti.

There is 12V electrics wired in the van which compromise of X6 warm LED dimmable lights, in van alarm system with key phobb for extra piece of mind, USB decorative lights, X2 separate USB (with additional extensions included) ports with X2 cigarette ports incorporated inside, on the left and right hand side. It comes with a 105amp hour AGM leisure battery and complete with full solar set up for stealthy camping, includes LCD MT50 display Solar Charge Regulator for monitoring with ease with a 150watt flexible solar panel, that charges the leisure battery which runs all the electrics and 12V 40L electric cool box.

There is a small metal bin under the cooking area and storage under the bed by way of a pull out crate and also at the rear of the van through the back doors outside. It comes with an array of useful accessories such as a highlander slice toaster, cigarette plug adapter, kettle, tea light set etc.

She naturally gets lots of attention when she is out and about at campsites/park ups and she is truly one of a kind, she is really cosy inside which most campervans can lack. Because she is a small van she is easy to drive and manoeuvre and can easily double up as a run around vehicle as well as a campervan. She is fully equipped and rearing to go straight away for you!
