Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Welcome to my lovely converted Sprinter. I kept him to myself for the first year of owning him, then he’s been hired out on Quirky Campers for the last 11 months.
A professional conversion, with absolutely everything you need to be off grid. This van was built to live in full time, and the conversion has been carried out to a very high standard, with everything you need: massive solar set up, wifi, huge water tanks, heating, roof rack, enormous bed, loads of seating space, worktop space and storage.
I’ve had him for 2 years, have made lots of other modifications (new worktops, new tiles, a sun deck!), and have developed a little bit of a van obsession (!) and having a new van converted, so need to let Freeman go so that I don’t upset the neighbours by parking him outside their house when new van arrives!
Don’t just take my word for how great he is – have a look at the reviews he’s received on the listing.
He’s really really well looked after (he’s been my pride and joy), with full service history, clear MOT, and I like to keep him in top top condition (whether that’s the base van part or the conversion part).
He’s got absolutely everything you’d ever need, and nothing has been done on the cheap. This is a top quality conversion, built to last.

Beds Description

Super King Size Bed (that’s massive!) – sleeps 2 adults but if you have younger children there’s loads of room if you’re happy to all sleep together. Bed size is 200 x 180cm when set up.

Conversion Description

So, if you want a (really well looked after, low mileage, high spec) van that’s got everything, you’ll be looking for this van – whether it’s the massive water tanks & solar panels, the roof sundeck – or the wifi. He’s been designed to live in, full-time off-grid, and, well, simply works – from the layout to the facilities.

LWB Mercedes Sprinter, professionally converted by Action Van Conversions, with further modifications since.

ULEZ compliant (whoop!).

Quirky Approved and has been listed for hire for the last 12 months (rental figures available on request – he gets hired right through the winter, and for long periods too, as he’s got everything you need to live off grid and doesn’t feel cramped). Great ROI.

https://www.quirkycampers.com/uk/campervan/238019/?wb-currency=GBP – see the listing & the reviews here.

Really well maintained, full service history, passes MOT with no advisories (happy to arrange new MOT for sale). Kept in tip tip condition (such as recent additions of the sun deck on the roof, new heritage star tiling, new beautiful American Walnut wooden worktop, Farrow and Ball painted cupboards, brass curtain rails).

* Private owner (me)

* Professionally converted

* REALLY LOW MILEAGE

* WIFI: (oh yes!) – 4G mobile booster antenna, allows Internet access in the most remote locations

* LARGE WATER TANKS: 80 (massive) litre fresh water tank with external filling (and emptying) (I actually think it may be 90 litres but hard to check now) and 80 litre (also massive) waste water tank with external drive-over-drain emptying (no carting around large grey water bottle to empty)

* INDOOR SHOWER: (Mira Shower Minilite) that feeds off the main tank so you can have a proper shower – look at the reviews of hirers for how great this shower is.

* TOILET PRIVACY: Custom designed shower/toilet room with shower tray and tiles (with flexible grout) which means you have a private toilet experience… it’s in the shower room, which has a door – so no pulling out from a drawer to pee in front of your fellow travel companion – you pee in private!

* HEATING AND HOT WATER: Truma (the best brand of heating systems?!) combi unit for heating & hot water – hot and cold water to both the sink and the shower (many builds only give you cold water to the sink … not this one)

* SUPER KING SIZE BED: Dining / lounge area converts into a … Super King Size Bed (That’s huge – and it’s really comfortable)

* Seating for 6 (or more – it’s a U shaped seating arrangement that’s 2m long on both sides)

* LARGE FRIDGE (Vitrifrigo C51I Fridge / Freezer) – integrated so that you aren’t looking at a fridge door

* 2 gas rings: Zanussi Domino Stainless Steel 2 Burner Gas Hob

* LARGE GAS TANK: 11kg GAS-iT refillable bottle (big, so you won’t be running out of gas every few days) with indicator so you know how much gas you have, with external filling point – no changing of gas bottles required, and costs about £10 to fill up

* LARGE SINK: stainless steel sink (little sinks may look cute but are a pain when you actually want to wash up!) with hot and cold water.

* LOTS OF WINDOWS! Barn door privacy windows (so 2 windows in the back doors), large privacy window in sliding door, large privacy window on opposite side of the van to the sliding doors – all of these windows means you don’t feel ‘trapped’ inside a box when you have your doors closed and you’re inside the van

* LARGE SOLAR SET UP: 2 x 140w glass solar panels

* 2 LEISURE BATTERIES: 2 x 125 AGM leisure batteries

* 4 x USB sockets (plus one in cab) and 2 x 240 volt sockets

* 1500w inverter

* VICTRON Energy BMV 702 with Bluetooth Dongle – so you can check how your leisure batteries are doing, charge wise, from the solar panels (big!) or they’ll also charge while you’re driving about. I don’t really ever need to look at this as I never worry about not having enough charge in the batteries

* HOOK UP – although the solar panels and batteries are so big that I’ve never once had to use the hook up – this is van built for off-grid living

* Rhino ROOF RACK covering full length of van

* SUN DECK! Marine ply roof sun deck (marine ply is … built to last, it won’t rot)

* SECURITY: Deadlocks on all doors – driver & passenger, sliding, and back doors, for added security; tracker

WHAT ELSE?
* Beautiful new American Walnut worktops & Heritage Star tiling
* Loads of storage (loads and loads of cupboards in the kitchen area, above the seating area, and under the dining area seats / bed)
* Fan, 2-way vent, Fiamma roof hatch
* Laguna adjustable swivelling cockpit table
* Shurflo water pump with filter feeding the shower and kitchen sink
* Water level indicator so you know how much water you’re carrying
* Truma Thermostat control
* Thetford 92820 Porta Potti 365 Portable Toilet
* Fold-down mirror from inside overhead cabinet
* Gas certified (with certificate)
* Touch on / off spotlights
* Reversing camera
* External water filling and releasing (also check this when you’re comparing vans!)
* Lined back doors (no exposed metal)
* Brass curtain rails
* Easy access to the cab, for safety
* Farrow and Ball painted cupboards
* Bluetooth cab connectivity
* Additional extendable pull out table in the kitchen (as if you needed more work surface!)

This is not a new build, but he is very well looked after. Small chip in shower base (which has been repaired and fully functional). I’d recover the seats (nothing wrong with the foam, it’s super comfortable). Happy to do that but thought you’d want to choose your own material, so I haven’t, and price reflects that.

He is spec’d out to a high standard to allow for comfortable and efficient touring for long and short trips. The electrical set up with heating, hot water, 4g booster, fridge/freezer, hob, 11kg LPG tank, and large water tank makes it a great off-grid camping vehicle. He’s a highly practical, comfortable, and cost-effective vehicle for long-distance driving.

An excellent van, whether it’s for your sole use or to share with others through hiring out.

Note: Weight includes a person in the van! Couple of remaining bookings so will be available for you from 23rd August. Can arrange viewings when not hired out before then.
