Iveco Daily Long Wheel Base

94,000 miles
4 Berths

Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Rosie is a fully-off-grid long wheel-base 2012 Iveco Daily, previously a Kent Fire Service support van. I have lived in her full-time for 7 months (including over winter in England), and can confirm she is an absolute dream! Remained toasty, dry and comfortable throughout even when it snowed, hailed or chucked it down with rain!

Professionally converted (finished March 2020) by the super-skilled Barrell of Monkeys in Somerset.

3 litre diesel engine and twin wheels on the rear wheel drive axle offer excellent grip even in soft, grassy conditions.

Two seats up front; driverโ€™s seat has independent suspension (very comfortable!).

Two rear passenger seats with 3-point seatbelts and ISOfix. Seats are mounted on chassis-bolted frames and can be moved to face forwards or backwards. Dining table/desk between the two.

MOT until Feb 2022. Brand new starter battery Jan 2021.
Full service in Feb 2020; brakes checked, cleaned and adjusted, four new rear tires fitted and new rear brake pads, wear sensors. All oil, fuel, air and cabin filters were also replaced.

Conversion Description

Professionally converted by Barrell of Monkeys in Somerset (who have a circa one year wait list). Everything is in near-new condition.

It would suit a couple or a family: it has one king sized (200x163cm) bed, and two spacious lower bunks (can either sleep 1 adult & 1 small child (200×70 + 107×70) or two children (175×700 + 130×70).

Designed with great sleep in mind, the curtains are blackout lined, and there is a sylight (with sliding blackout blind and mosquito netting) directly above the kingsized bed – great for airflow whilst sleeping. Removable/stowable wood panel from upper bunk allows additional standing space in the kitchen in daytime.

Recycled plastic insulation and a vapour barrier keep the van cool in summer and warm in winter. Insulated blackout curtain between the cab and the living space.

Truma combi boiler (for heating and hot water), only 1 year old. With the (almost silent) thermostat controllable heating on, the van reaches and retains the desired temperature very efficiently.

Electrics and gas have been professionally inspected and safety tested.

Solid wood interior handcrafted by expert throughout, sealed/waterproofed on the tables and surfaces. Serene blue paint finish…paintwork is admittedly a little scuffed now in some places.

The van is designed for off grid living (but of course with the option of mains hook up) – it can easily handle long stretches off the beaten track! On the roof is mounted a bifacial 520 watt mono-crystaline solar panel giving an extra 120 watts of power in good light. The van has 3 x 100ah Rolls sealed agm batteries, and a 50 amp Victron energy MPPT solar charge controller. Inverter fitted meaning you can enjoy 240v electrics; four plug sockets (2 near bed above kitchen counter, 2 near table ideal for laptops etc).

Two large windows and two roof vents, so the van is lovely and light. The living space skylight has a controllable turbo fan for quickly getting rid of cooking smells or drawing in fresh air.

Big kitchen with lots of storage and counter top space. Vitrifrigo fridge-freezer (brand new in July) is larger than your average camper van fridge. Gas hob, stainless steel sink and electric hot-water mixer tap, LOADS of storage for food and cooking equipment.

The van has an 80L fresh water tank with sureflow electric pump.

A thetford portapotti cleverly hidden in a stylish wooden box can also be included if wanted. A powerful electric hot/cold water shower is fitted in the back of the van, for showering off after the beach, or under the stars.

LOADS of storage: garage at back, space under bottom bunks, cupboard over cab, 3 kitchen cupboards, kitchen drawers, 4 shelf alcoves, 2 large cupboards & 1 drawer in the living area. Four coat hooks.

If not required the smaller berths below could easily be converted into additional storage or used as a cosy reading/chilling nook.
