Unique Low Mileage Ford Transit Custom Limited Camper

One of a kind conversion ready for plenty more adventures. Low mileage with a conversion in the rear that has only been used on a handful of occasions which i’d designed to give maximum flexibility and avoid many of the problems with the more standard ‘rock n roll’ bed layout. A pull out sofa bed is positioned opposite the kitchen area meaning it’s comfortable to sit and use the sink or surfaces whilst seated meaning head room isn’t an issue and you get great views out through the sliding door.

Toilet and Bike Storage:
A large Thetford Porta Potti with a 15L freshwater and 21L wastewater tank in a separate box is positioned to still be accessible during the night when the double bed is pulled out. The toilet box can be removed easily and the toilet stowed under the bed leaving an area across the widest part of the van for two full sized bikes to be stored securely inside whilst still having the full bed area available for two people to sleep.

Kitchen and Storage:
A generous size stainless steel Ikea sink set within an oak work surface is fed by a rechargeable battery powered Dometic tap with 19L fresh and 19L wastewater tanks under the sink and further capacity for two more 19L tanks accessible from the rear of the kitchen unit. The kitchen unit provides loads of storage along with masses of space under the bed and a small wardrobe behind the toilet. I tend to cook outside but have left space for a hob to sit at the front of the kitchen next to the sliding door if required in future.

Electrics:
The electrical system is really simple with an Bluetti EB70 lithium battery bank that can power 12v or 240v devices and is included within the sale. This slots nicely under the passenger seats and can be accessed from the rear hatch and charged off the 12v whilst driving from the front. I’ve used a standard cool box in this build over the last couple of years but have left space in the kitchen or under the bed for a 12v cool box that could run off the Bluetti for weekends in future. The electrics are handy for those who may not have a driveway to recharge leisure batteries etc… and I’ve found being able to bring the tap and power bank inside occasionally and charge at home really useful.

Windows and Curtains:
There are two professionally installed tinted windows to the rear barn doors along with one on the left side sliding door giving great light inside but privacy from the outside. All windows along with the division between the cab and the rear contain stretch black out curtains that can be tied back.

Insulation and Lining:
The van was converted a couple of years ago and i’ve included a couple of photos to show the build up. Effectively all exposed areas were covered with silver foil backed insulation including the floor and ceiling with all joints taped. Plywood panels were then added back in and carpet lined and a robust Altro flooring cover stuck down. It’s the second van i’ve converted for personal use over the last few years and I find this method the best at preventing condensation whilst some insulation and keeping weight down.
