Citroen Relay L3H2
2.2L Diesel Engine which runs perfectly. Last MOT’d May 2023 which reported a damaged drivers mirror. This related to a major scratch down the passenger side where a hit and run vehicle scraped the side, while it was parked on a narrow road. Aside from this bit of bodywork the vehicle itself is in good condition with 4 new tyres (May 2023).
We selling our beloved van ‘UOE’ pronounced ‘you-ie’. UOE was a lovingly converted in 2019 and was built with the idea to take us travelling in Europe without the dodgy hostels. 1 pandemic later and not much time to take him out, we sadly don’t get time to use UOE. His cosmetic appearance needs some love (hence the cheaper price) however he has great features and barely used appliances.
UOE was converted to accommodate long active holidays in remote locations, with attention paid to stealth. It has minimal exterior changes and even the solar panels look like a ladder at first pass. The conversion was an amateur self build, based on the designs of Greg Virgoe on Youtube. It supported several long trips mountaineering and climbing, but has been parked unused for over a year. It has high quality components installed like an underslung gas tank (GasIT), underslung water tanks (waste and fresh – frost protection and digital meter monitoring included). It has an underslung water heater to provide hot water to the kitchen sink and internal shower. The gas supply is fitted with a 8mm Alde Marine/Boat Gas Leak Detector (Bubble Tester) to validate that any gas supplies from the tank are sealed. The oven is almost as new. Water is pumped up from the underslung tanks and regulated to pressure to allow normal domestic style usage in both sink and shower. Electrics are based on 2 x 200AH AGM leisure batteries which gets power from a split charge relay and a 400w solar array on the van’s roof. The 12v circuits power oven, fridge, heater, pump and sensors. 240V power is distributed to two sockets and the water heater through a spark 2kw sine wave inverter. A 240V mains charger was planned for but never installed as this set up provided more than enough power for all off-grid needs. The shower cubicle was built using stud walls and then tanked and sealed. The bed was bolted into the frame of the vehicle and elevated to provide under-bed storage, both for the batteries and outdoor equipment. Two ceiling vents provide air circulation (one vent is powered) and an Eberspaecher Diesel Heater is tapped into the vehicle diesel tank to heat the cabin when needed. The finish of the interior is all very basic and reflected the humble DIY nature of the build. Plywood was used as the principle material for the kitchen cabinets which has warped with hot and cold variations in temperature over the years. The countertop is a standard ikea kitchen top and all stud frames for woodwork are pine PSE lumber. I want to find the time to refresh the woodworking finish from its original build now my skills in the area have improved. However, our lifestyle has changed and we would love to pass this on to someone who would make use of UOE and make it their own.
There is one double bed which runs across the width of the vehicle. Due to the width restriction of the vehicle I would recommend that it is best suited to those under 6ft.
