Peugeot Boxer 244 2.0 HDi (L1H2)
Selling my much loved oddly proportioned van conversion that I’ve owned for the past 5 years or so. This is a really unusual version of this van, with a short wheel-base and a high top, perfect for standing up in and also fitting into car sized spaces. It has served me very well over the years, as a van that I lived in for some time, for long trips around the UK, and more recently as a van for working away at festivals and other events. Sadly I dont use it enough anymore, and therefore I’m looking to find something smaller.
General Info
Peugeot Boxer 244 2.0 HDi SWB (year 2006).
Mileage when I bought this van was around 99 000 in 2020, and now is just below 130000, so I’ve averaged around 5-6000 miles a year.
Full MOT until March 2026.
3 previous owners, of which one was my dad, who stored the van under cover for a year in 2019/2020.
Oil and oil filter changed myself every year.
Mechanically, this is a brilliant van, runs beautifully and the garages I’ve used for the MOTs frequently comment on how well it runs considering its age, and that the diesel engine in this version of the Boxer is known to be super reliable. Cosmetically there are a few dents, small areas of surface rust and the paintwork is beginning to peel in parts (mainly on the drivers side) so touch ups to these areas would be advisable.
It is an old van so as to be expected there is some corrosion to the underbody. I usually spend a bit of time each year, addressing problematic areas professionally before the MOT to ensure work is done thoroughly and by people I trust to do this well. I have a couple of contacts in the Bristol area which I am happy to share with you if you are local.
THE Conversion
Ive put a lot of love into this conversion, doing all the work myself, with the help of a few friends. It has been designed in a way where parts have been made mainly as units, so that should you want to edit or remove parts this can be done as easily as possible. Parts can be removed and reinstalled within a few hours.

Quirks
This van is nearly 20 years old, so there are a few quirks that I live with on a daily basis when using this van.
Lower part of passenger side wing mirror is missing, easily replaceable and not too expensive to do, but never been a problem for me.
This van requires a unique way to get in and out of the van. I will go through this with you in person when you come and view the van.
1.Passenger side door doesn’t unlock from the outside. Opens fine from the inside, and locks fine from the outside, but has to be locked independently.
2. Sliding door lock has been forced so is out of action. Locks fine when the van is locked from the driver door. Can be opened from the inside and I’ve made a small theatrical curtain to allow a hand to access the internal opening handle from the passenger door entrance.
3. The van locks automatically when locked from the driver side, but the key needs to be held in lock position for a few moments, as for some reason, the van tries to unlock itself. I think this is something to do with the van sensing one of the doors are partially open (which isn’t the case). I haven’t found a way to fix this but the van locks fine nonetheless.
