Lovely natural light from the roof window and lots of interior lighting & usb ports, inverter for plug-in as well as electric hook-up.
I went for simplicity and nature-friendliness in the van build. We made cupboard fronts from a victorian pine wardrobe, and we crafted a chemical-free composting toilet. There’s a pull-out table for office and mealtimes which tucks neatly away under the bed on roller runners. The fixed bed is spring-based, with natural fabric futon – it’s a small double.
For cooking there’s the wood burning stove-top or a portable gas stove. Lots of storage for food, cooking utensils, clothing and more! The fridge pulls out from one of the drawers.

All wooden aspects of the van build have been screwed in so it’s easy to reconfigure if you ever wanted to.
I’ve been living solo in the belly of Van Dass on and off since 2023, he’s been lovingly built and cared for. He starts first time and is looking for his next adventure…he’s great for day tripping and long term living. Suitable for solo or a small couple (!) lots of head room for standing, and the bed fits nicely for a 5ft 7incher.

Lovingly hand-built with the natural and eco in mind, Van Dass’ woodwork has been loving recrafted from an old wardrobe and wood offcuts. The interior roof is paneled with natural wood, and all insulation is made from a wool and recycled bottle blend.
There’s no running water or shower, but we made a cupboard to fit a water carrier and dispenser. The cubic mini wood burning stove was a must! And there’s wood storage under the stove. Fitted with safety carbon/smoke alarm, and for the van itself, a bear lock anti theft device (locks the gears in reverse so nobody can drive off with him!) and extra safety measures.
