Vehicle Description

I have reduced Vanya down to £13,275 as I would like to sell her quickly for personal health reasons.
I am open to discuss sensible offers upon inspection.

Meet Vanya, a lovingly self-converted Long Wheel Base/High Top Mercedes Sprinter, ready to take you on beautiful adventures. We’ve been up and down the country together and I have also lived in her off grid. She is very reliable and easy to drive but I currently need to make some changes in my life (due to health issues) and so I am looking to find her a new home, where she will still get to go on adventures, even if I can’t.
I bought her as a base van in August 2020 and have slowly been converting her since. I undertook much of the conversion myself because I wanted to know how she had been put together and ensure she was really well insulated.
Her solar, windows and roof fan have all been professionally installed and the electrics were done by a friend qualified in electrical installations.
I removed the bulkhead but built sectional walls to make the van cosy whilst still providing access between the living space and the cab in an emergency or bad weather situation. She has a fitted double bed and a comfy sofa (also converts to another bed), perfect for lounging and watching the world go by. Storage is provided by a large cupboard above the bed, space for storage boxes under the sofa and further storage in the kitchen area and under the fridge/freezer. Under the fitted bed is a large garage area, which also houses the bespoke toilet when not in use. USB sockets run throughout the living area and various lighting options are available.
The bodywork overall is in good condition for her age, with age related marks, and wear and tear. I have done various bits of remedial work on rust patches. I am not a professional so yes, she looks a little patchy, but I think that’s better than rust. Underneath she is in very good condition (I have a video I can share privately on request).
I wanted to make Vanya unique, so using a combination of new and reclaimed materials and my applied arts training I have given her some bespoke fittings that I hope you will like. Her conversion is 95% complete (see notes below about the cooker top and heater) but she is totally functional and a really chilled and cosy space to be in whilst exploring or just getting away from it all. If you are looking for something with unique features but that will also act as a blank canvas to add your own style and touch to, then Vanya (other names are available) is the girl for you.
She has only had two previous owners, one a lady running a small jewellery business who used it to go to shows and the second a young guy who had planned to convert it and travel, but changed his mind due to the pandemic. She has only done 98,000 miles and has certainly not been thrashed. Since converting I have registered her with the DVLA as a ‘Van with Windows’. I chose not to try and register as a Campervan as I did not want to install some of the features that the DVLA insist on but wanted the V5 records to be up to date.

Conversion Description

INSULATION
Having treated any surface rust patches on the van shell, I proceeded to fit sound deadening to all panels. I then used a combination of various insulating materials throughout the van which were: Dodo Super Liner, Dodo Thermo Van Liner, Diall Recycled Plastic Insulation Rolls, Dodo Fixman Tape.
Following insulation, the van was battened and boarded with ply sheeting.
Most of the walls are covered with 4 Way Stretch Vehicle Carpet and the floor has tough wood effect lino flooring with 2 layers of ply underneath (combined approx. 18mm). The ceiling is covered in reed matting and the window frames are made from slated bamboo. Bespoke window coverings create a super cosy night-time experience.
Above the cab area has also been insulated and the cab has new fitted floor mats.

ELECTRICAL SET UP
Currently the leisure batteries are under half of the front passenger seat and the electrical control panel is housed behind the passenger seats, enclosed by a folding door. This allows for easy access if required, even during wet weather. If desired it would be relatively easy to transfer this set up to the garage area, I chose to keep everything 12v rather than requiring electrical hook up.
• 300w Perlite Solar Panel on roof
• 1 x EpEver DuoRacer 30Amp Charge Controller MPPT regulator for solar power (Bluetooth control available via Smartphone or Laptop)
• 1 x EpEver MT11 Remote Meter display box for solar charge controller on wall above fridge (allows you to keep an eye on energy availability/usage when charge controller is shut away).
• 2 x 120Ah Leisure Batteries
• Victron Energy Orion-Tr Smart 12/12 Volt, 30 Amp, 360Watt DC/DC Charger (with Bluetooth option) – monitors charging the leisure batteries from either the solar panels or the vans starter battery.
• 12v fuse box (spare fuses supplied)
• All sections have breakers and separate switches in order to protect the system and allow for isolating of parts as required.
• USB sockets throughout the van (x10)
• A combination of lighting options, all USB powered or chargeable: some with remote control and varied light options, including timer and dimmer.

KITCHEN
The kitchen area comprises a large stainless-steel sink measuring W38cm x D24cm x H19cm It is served by an electric tap (with an internal pump) charged by USB cable. The tap is connected to a 10L clean water storage bottle (a spare 10L bottle is also supplied). Water drains from the sink into a 25L grey water tank. Both are removable for refilling/emptying and cleaning. At the right-hand end of the kitchen, near an opening window, is fitted a two-ring gas cooktop. I concluded I needed to sell the van before I had the gas bottle for this professionally installed and so I decided to leave this for the new owner to do, so they could decide which way they wished to do this, or in case they wanted to fit something different. I had been using a camping stove before this and I am including this in the sale, with 2 spare gas bottles.
Between the sink and the cook top is a storage area. When not in use, all three areas have lids which turns the kitchen into a useful work surface at other times. Underneath are four drawers and two cupboards. Above these units are some bespoke draws and a series of suspended jars for food storage.
Also included is the Just Kampers JKF50 12v LG Compressor Fridge-Freezer. This has a low draw of only 0.7Ah/h and is quiet too. It can be used as 34L Fridge and 8L Freezer – or all 42L as a Fridge. Only just over 1 year old, works perfectly.

WINDOWS have been professionally fitted with Bonded windows, from Leisure Vehicle Windows, Corby. Each one is privacy glass (not a film but dyed glass) so you can see out but people can’t see in. They all have half window opening with a separate fly screen, so you can have air without letting bugs in.
Roof Ventilation is provided by a Maxxfan Deluxle – 10 speed reversible fan with built in rain shield and climate control. Remote control or manual operation.

LIVING AREA
After trying a few different ideas I decided to leave the whole living area fairly open, rather that fit internal walls and lots of wall cupboards as it just felt much lighter and a more relaxing space. I’m more of an eat on my knee kind of person, or outside, so I also chose not to take up space with a table, instead just taking a camping table with me for outside use. As you step into the van, there are coat hooks and the space under the fridge/freezer makes an ideal space for storing boots and shoes.

EXTRAS – the following are included as part of the sale;
DEISEL HEATER: I purchased a Flower – W 12v 2Kw Deisel Air Heater plus Mounting Bracket which is reviewed as an efficient 2 KW Diesel-heater which will provides the living space with heat very quickly so you can stay toasty and warm during cold evenings and winter adventures. I concluded I needed to sell the van before I had fitted the diesel heater, so decided to let the new owner decide where they would like to fit it.
WADEO Portable Camping Shower: A chargeable unit (via USB) that comes with soft sided collapsible bucket – great for a quick freshen up or washing down bikes, dogs etc.
FIRE Extinguisher and fire blanket
SECURITY: Disklok Security Anti-Theft Lock (Most recommended by Police) and TVL Locking Pedal Box
MATERIALS: I am also including a selection of left over materials used in the van build, so should you need any for little extra bits of work you will have matching items should you want them.
CAMPING EQUIPMENT: I have some camping items I have used with the van that I am happy to include, such as kettle, plates, cutlery, picnic blanket and wind break.

Beds Description

There is one fixed bed at the back of the van (width of 136cm with length of 172cm), this has a timber constructed framework and a 4 inch foam mattress that is reasonably firm (has fire safety label)
In addition the sofa (has fire safety label) converts a to a single bed (width 94cm and length 186cm). The sofa is snuggly held in place but could also be taken outside the van if required, so could be set up as a bed in an awning or separate tent.
3 Adult berths or possibly more if children.
Some of the area under the main bed could easily be converted to a pet bed.
