Inside
This self-contained 5 berth campervan with a handcrafted Scandinavian design has a fully equipped kitchen with a gorgeous oak worktop, a built-in marine wooded shower cubicle with a portable shower and loo, and off-grid wild camper capabilities. Diesel-powered heating and air conditioning make it suitable for all weathers, you can use the 240v power to hook up at campsites when required and make use of the awning that gives you extra space.
There are 5 belted seats, all forward-facing, with 3 point seat belts. The driver’s seat part swivels to the rear, creating a cozy cab area for a children’s bed, and there is a height-adjustable solid oak dining table.
Cooking Equipment
Solid oak worktop with a Thetford 2 burner gas hob, a Webasto Cruise Elegance CR49 Compressor Cabinet fridge and freezer 49 litres, and plenty of storage space. The Hob runs from a refillable system, accessed from the outside fill point at petrol stations around the UK and Europe that has an LPG ( AutoGas) pump, This is cheap and convenient. It’s unlikely you will need to fill it up for a short holiday.
Under cupboard LED lights.Feature shelf with airtight jars for storage.
Included in the sale is all the cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, etc
Water facilities
There is an internal shower cubicle with a portable camping shower, and a Porta Potti loo. An Electric shower could easily be installed here if required. The sink supplies water via a 12v powered pump from a 25-liter water tank, easily accessed from the side entrance. Inlet funnel and hosepipe supplied. Easy access to the wastewater.
Audio & Electric Equipment
Radio Cassette player in the cab.3 USB plugs off the 12v power. All electrics are run from 2 AMG 12V leisure batteries that are charged by the engine, and a large 160v monocrystalline solar panel with a Victron Energy MMPT controller, making the van totally off-grid. There is also 240v
Electric hook up for camping sites( hook up lead provided) There are 240v household plugs and 3 overhead lights, as well as the 12v ceiling lights. A low voltage hair dryer suitable for 12v is supplied.
Both the gas and solar energy can be monitored on a tablet supplied.
Heating
Air conditioning and heating run off an Eberspacher diesel pump. This is very economical and can be left running all night( as long as you have diesel in the van )
Full printed instructions cover all aspects of using the van, and the van can be hired immediately with Quirky campers if desired.
Blue Lagoon was originally a disabled minibus for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Society. It was converted in Denmark, and we purchased it as a new conversion in Jan 2020.
Since then we have extended the berth accommodation with hand made slatted beds, made by Alan Swanson, The old Mill Workshop, Stroud
240v and a fridge was installed by Ross May at STS Conversions, Bristol
We have had much fun with family and friends in the van and also hired the van on Quirky Campers since the easing of campervan pandemic rules in April 2021. We have had 8 hirings between April 2021-Aug 2021, and of the five who sent reviews, all 5 were 5 stars!.
One fixed rear double bed measuring 6ft x 4ft6, with a very comfortable memory foam mattress. A single bed, with a pine slatted base, is partially under the double bed, It measures 6ft x 2ft6, and also has a memory foam mattress. It is possible for an adult to sleep here with slight restriction above the legs.
Childbed 1 is made by fixing a slatted base over the lowered dining table.It has a memory foam mattress and measures 5ftx 2ft3.
Childbed 2 is a childs mattress in cab, suitable for 12 yrs and under.Its on a firm base over the seats and is very sturdy and comfortable.(Adults have slept here !)
