Vauxhall Vivaro 2700 CDTI SWB
Originally a West Yorkshire Police minibus, this vehicle was sold by them in 2016 and treated to a lovely and well-thought out 2-berth camper conversion. My wife and I have owned Vivian for almost two years, but as we’re not using her as much as we’d like, it’s time to let her go to a new home.
Vivian had a fresh MOT in May, and my local garage has just carried out a major service and re-gassed the aircon system. I’ve had the cab professionally valeted as well, so she’s all ready for adventures with her new owner.
She’s fitted with a 2.0 diesel engine and six-speed manual gearbox.
Vivian benefits from twin sliding doors as well as the standard double rear doors: this is fantastic in summer as you can open them all up for maximum countryside views and a cooling through-breeze on hot sunny evenings! All the rear windows have a limo tint for privacy and to keep the interior cool in summer.
We’re sure that you’ll fall in love with Vivian just as we did, but please note that there are a few things to be aware of:
Vivian is 14 years old and has covered 203,000 miles since new; however, 100,000 of these were with the West Yorkshire Police, and there’s a stack of documented service history that shows she’s been well looked after. She runs and drives very well for an old camper, and pulls strongly through all the gears with no smoke or unusual noises from the engine.
The bodywork shows signs of age with a few dings and spots of surface rust here and there, but nothing concerning and overall Vivian looks in pretty good shape for an old girl!
Because of the age and miles, viewing in-person is recommended: vehicle inspections are welcomed for your full peace of mind. Please do check out the MOT history of the vehicle, as you can see she’s in good condition overall with no mention of the dreaded rust at all.
Resplendent in a striking Ganesha livery with matching jade wheel trims, Vivian is officially registered as a camper van and benefits from twin sliding doors as well as the standard double rear doors: this is fantastic in summer as you can open them all up for maximum countryside views and a cooling through-breeze on hot sunny evenings! All the rear windows have a limo tint for privacy and to keep the interior cool in summer.
Two adults can sit in comfort on the 3/4 width rear bench seat, and there’s plenty of room to dine together on the stow-away dining table. The seat folds flat in seconds into a very comfortable double bed. A complete set of black-out window covers will come with the van, for privacy and some insulation at night.
Note that the rear bench seat is not fitted with seat belts, so Vivian cannot legally or safely be used to carry rear passengers.
Cooking simple meals and washing up afterwards is made super-easy by the built-in Dometic stainless steel kitchen unit, comprising integral twin gas hob and sink with electric tap. Portable fresh and waste water tanks are stored below, along with the 12V leisure battery and gas bottle.
There’s plenty of storage space either in the fitted cupboard unit or under the bench seat/bed.
Vivian is fitted with a 240V electric system (all cables supplied with the van), so you can enjoy mains power whilst camping or even at home on your driveway. Internal lighting has been thoughtfully installed, and there are a mixture of 240V and 12V power outlets to power/charge your various devices.
We’ll also throw in a nearly-new driveaway awning with optional-extra carpet, and an electric space heater in case you like camping out of season (we’ve never needed to use it).
3/4 width rock and roll bed suitable for two adults. Note that no seatbelts are fitted, so passengers cannot be legally or safely carried.
