Rebel Rebel is a converted 2016 Volkswagen Transporter T6 Trendline T28 Short Wheel Base (SWB). We purchased it as a premium conversion (done by local firm Cambridge Campervans). It came with a HiLo pop top roof, Sliding RIB Bed, swivel double front seat (these high speck additions made the original conversion £2,700 more expensive than a standard conversion. We have added further enhancements, such as a red Napa leather interior, lowered suspension, diesel heater, 18”steely wheels (with all-season Yokohama, tires) and solar panel.
Van has service history majority of it with Volkswagen. The van is being serviced at a local Volkswagen service centre on the 12th of May. MOT runs out in November. No expense has been spared when it comes to keeping it mechanically perfect. All relevant maintenance has been done to the Volkswagen schedule.
Plenty of bills to prove recent work. I have a VW Extended Warranty that ends in a year, I’m seeing if it can be passed on to the new owner.
The van itself has the following features:

The van is equipped with Volkswagen‘s latest Euro 6 Diesel engine.
It comfortably sleeps four people with two in the pop top roof and two in the main living area. The pop top roof area is completely ventilated and you’re ensured a good nights sleep as it is blackout (so perfect for children). The living area has blackout blinds on all windows to ensure privacy and also a good night sleep.
The HiLo roof gives exceptional sleeping space for more than a conventional pop top. However, when closed you can’t tell the van is a camper conversion due to its slimline profile. This is an expensive conversion option. Also you can completely unzip the canvas so you can use the sleeping deck as a viewing platform.
You can create a larger living area by pushing the sleeping space up and spinning double front seat round, it also has a flip up table you can eat food at or play cards.
The van includes full electrics that can be connected up to the campsite hook up, however this is not necessary for an overnight stay as their is a leisure battery that will run the illumination, fridge and USB charge points. There is a 3 pin plug for when it’s connected to campsite hookup and there are also 2 USB points in the rear. Van is also equipped with a solar panel to charge the leisure battery if required. The have has full LED illumination for the main living area and the pop-top sleeping area.
The kitchen is well equipped with double gas rings, sink with 46L fresh water tank. There is an excellent fridge and larder storage. Gas bottle is stored in a secure gas storage locker that was inspected year ago by a gas, safe engineer and signed off. There is a stowable dining table that slots into the rear door of the van to create a nice dining space when the front seats are spun around.
When the rear area is converted for travelling it’s completely safe as the rib bed when in seated configurations can take two children (with ISO Fix), right up to full grown adults using the three point safety belts. The rear seat/bed has been properly installed so therefore has all the correct crash protection and is fully tied into the chassis.
The van includes a wind out Fiamma awning to protect you from there elements and provide shade. To ensure full comfort the van can be levelled using ramps.
At extra cost, we can sell the van with the canvas, OZ RV Tent 2 pop-up awning. Look for a video on YouTube, for the awning it’s a fantastic simple design made from canvas. We also have some other relevant accessories that you may want to purchase. The van can also be sold with an bike rack that will take three bikes.
At the time of posting this, the van is done 87,000 miles. Please be aware that the van is being used on a weekly basis so mileage will creep up. As you can tell from the images and description above that Rebel is very much loved and well looked after. There is the odd light scratch and stone chip as you’d expect for a six year old van. We still ch Only selling the van because in the near future I’m changing my job from home bases to office base and I will drive over 120 miles a day.
