VW Caddy BlueMotion 1.6
11 month MOT, done on 10th April ’23 – recently spent Β£1500 on replacing injectors, rear right wheel bearing, anti-roll bar links as listed on MOT. Now all 4 injectors have been done – the notorious fault for Caddy’s. Owned by a business previously that serviced the vehicle every 6/12 months and they were fastidious about keeping it in good condition. Good bodywork, was wrapped in a laminate by business previous so very good underneath.
Bluemotion – regularly gets 50-55mpg. Stop start, a very clean runner, efficient for a car even, let alone a Van. 5 gear, long gear ratios to increase efficiency.
A great little van that’s incredibly sound under the bonnet, which has already had all the major work done to it that it’s going to need.
Fully sound proofed and thermally lined with top of the range material. Insulated with self-adhesive 5mm neoprene foam & 3in thick thinsulate recycled bottle on top of that. Very insulated, very quiet. Ply lined walls and floor, thick carpeted with 4 way stretch carpet in βBarleyβ colour. One-piece rubber floor to stop water/debris/dirt getting through to the ply & insulation – wipe/spray clean!

Electrics are simple and run off vehicle battery. The interior light in the back is a touch dimmer and the front USB port is always on and very reachable – I have overdone it in previous vans and had huge 12v systems just to achieve the same thing (which also costs a fortune). Battery is super big due to it being stop/start – the simple 4 amp/hr light has at least 30-40 hours in it.
Very roomy despite what SWB caddy’s look like on the outside – 5ft 10 can lie flat fully extended.
A brilliant little van that can easily fit two people on a big adventure, in a high MPG, efficient and stealthy way.
