We are selling our much-loved 1994 VW T4 Caravelle Campervan (Laidback larry). A great day-to-day van ready for it’s next owner and adventure.

Things we love
– Reliable (starts every time even in the coldest mornings, with recently replaced glow plugs)
– Characterful and unique
– A smooth well-balanced drive
– Comfortably cruises along motorways at 70mph but also handles town and coastal roads easily (going uphill can be a little slow)
– The sofa viewing straight out is a bonus and with the kitchen set up there’s a lovely set up between relaxing and cooking or making hot drinks at the same time
– Practical day to day van with lots of space
– Lots of well-designed storage throughout
– Short wheel base so fits in car parking spaces

Things to know
– As with vans of this age there is some rust;
o All bodywork rust in key areas from MOT advisories in 2023 had full works and welding completed to repair and then painted over with a black protective seal
o Other rust spots around windows or doors for example are cosmetic and have been treated and painted with some sticker patches added to cover them for extra protection against the elements and to prevent moisture ingress
– Drivers seat fabric has a hole in it
– Some window seals could do with tidying up a bit
– All integral works have been carried out at two well respected local garages
– Radio works fine but CD player doesn’t tend to work so well

This is a very reluctant and bittersweet sale for us as we absolutely love our van Larry. But it’s time to move it on to someone who will enjoy it and give it the care and love it deserves.
