The first seat contains the 2 x 70 amh leisure batteries, fusebox, 12v switch panel for all electrical fittings, a double USB socket, switch charge relay and the cut of switch for such. 2nd seat has an under seat storage cupboard , and the 3rd seat houses the portaloo. The modular seating design works so the middle seat slides out to fit the dining table. The movable seat can be positioned to make the dinette a 3 seater or moved to a place of your choice.
Above this is a wall mounted (professionally fitted) 2 part cupboard . We have used for food and plates and dishes.
Kitchen area.
A professionally fitted large 3 way fridge can be powered using LPG, 12v or 240v electric and has a freezer box comparment. This is enclosed in a cupboard with a live edge oak worktop on top.
The main kitchen unit contains a matching gas oven, hob and grill set coloured green. The sink and drainer is also part of the same set with water pump serving it is from a 10L removable water tank in the rear of the van. Sink is external drainage (grey water tank supplied). The worktop for the unit is again live edge and there is plenty of storage under the sink which also houses the monitor for the LPG tank. The doors are handmade with rattan covers.
Behind the cabin seats are professionally fitted base bench unit with storage containing 2 self made storage pockets using Lucy and yak dungarees. This is where the diesel heater vent is (fitted under passenger seat) . The diesel heater is tapped into the diesel tank so there is no chance of diesel spills and no separate diesel tank taking up further space. The feed pipe to the diesel heater is fitted so it stops at the last quarter of the tank, meaning it will not drain the tank fully. There are 2 other compartments for storage in the bench storage. This area is lit by 2 rotating vintage style spot lights which can be positioned better when cooking. There is also a skylight which open with a sliding blind and insect net barrier.
Bedroom Area
The bed is super comfy with a double mattress and extra cushioning down the sides that our doggies slept on. The bed would fit a king size mattress if that something you’d prefer. We wanted to be able to remove and wash the cushions where the dogs slept.
The are two large wall storage cupboards in the bedroom (professionally fitted) with a shelf and built in bedside lamp . Underneath is a shelf for books that also has 12v usb charging point.
Above the bed is the 2nd of the 2 skylights , perfectly positioned to start your day or moon gaze while in bed. Skylights have built in bug net and black out blinds. Under bed and garage has shelves for food that can be accessed from kitchen area , or can be used for a dig bed. With extra storage along the wall.
Garage area/ under bed storage.
We decided to build a full sized fitted bed so we had the storage space underneath, but also for when we were away from several weeks we could have space to relax on the bed after long walks.
The garage holds the water tank, the waste water tank for when parked up. There is storage for walking boots and awning and any other bits. We have kept a portable BBQ, 2 paddle boards and dog coats just to give you an idea of the amount of storage.
The table top for the dinette also is stored in the garage compartment. There is made black out curtains to divide living area from driving cab to create safety and warmth and handmade removable blackout curtains for side windows.
The van has been perfect for our trips through mainland Europe, the Scottish Highlands and many stays in Wales and England. From campsites to wild off grid camping she has had everything we have needed to cope with the turbulent British weather.
