VW Transporter T5 SWB
We have loved this van since we bought it in 2009 as a panel van and converted it. It has taken our little family around the UK and Europe (as far north as Sweden, as far west as Ireland, as far south as mid France), covering 194,000 miles in our ownership. We have converted it and added to it over the years to make it an easily liveable space for up to 4.
It is so easy to drive it has also been used to commute to work. Now it is time for us to move to a larger van so we are selling with happy memories but very sad hearts.

This van is still registered as a panel van with DVLA as it does not have a fixed sink or cooker – we use free standing gas cooker on top of the worksurface or outside (cooker not supplied) and wash up with freestanding bowl or at campsite kitchen wash area.
Bought in August 2009 as a panel van, insulated floors, walls, ceiling, panelled. The cabinets and storage added by ourselves; includes double storage cupboard with tambour doors in living space, 2 large underseat drawers, small clothes cupboard with tambour door, on top of worksurface. From the tailgate area there is one rear storage cupboard and floor storage area. Drop in electric powered cool box – runs on 12v DC from leisure battery while on solar, 240v while on electric hookup and 240 v when taken into the house before packing to pre cool using. 2 rear opening side windows, mid van off side and on the side door near side. Large rock & roll bed added professionally and bolted through chassis, this allows two three point seat belts, taking belted seating to 5 in total. Pop top added professionally by Revamp-a-van, has a large double bed with one full vinyl window and two flyscreen windows. All three in the roof have black-out fabric inners. Front double seat and drives seats have swivel bases, mini safe secured in base of drivers seat which has two keys. Large double under seat storage under front bench seat.
There are two solar panels that are mountable on the poptop roof and connect into a PWM solar controller. This is wired into the leisure battery to charge it when off grid. The 12v coolbox is powered from this controller directly which has a low voltage cut off built in. Allows for peace of mind when leaving the coolbox running when not in the van.
There is a skim board shaped demountable table that connects to a slide bar on the counter top edge allowing 4 to eat at the table when the front seats are rotated.
Atoto A6 android touchscreen headunit with FM Radio(DAB module can be added), bluetooth, SATNAV, forward facing dashcam(needs a micro SD card), reversing camera function. Android apps downloadable from app store for upgrading.
Tow ball and electrics. Also comes with MAXX RAXX mounting bracket to fit bike rack to this (not included as we borrowed it from family).
Leisure battery mounted behind drivers seat for easy access with power fuse rack for all USB and power points and also powers the Stereo head unit. 140Amp reversible split charge unit fitted into vehicle battery compartment allows charging of leisure battery while driving and charging of vehicle battery from solar panels but isolates between two when off grid and always keeps vehicle battery full.
Awning rail above side door to attach awning. Large awning is drive away so can be left on pitch. Awning useful for eating in, using as campkitchen (not supplied), storing sports kits, chairs, sitting out in rainy/cool weather etc.
There are receipts dating back over the 16 years we have had the van detailing all work done and when and mot’s and major services, including the last timing belt change in may 2024. Welcome to look through these if viewing the van. Small rust spots and dents on bodywork as per the age, clean underneath.
Rock and roll RIB double seat converts to double bed, sleeps 2 adults or children. adjustable head and foot ends allows for reclining etc to read while in bed.
