2006 VW Transporter T5 lwb 1.9 tdi Swamper Reconditioned engine , serviced full mot
We are reluctantly selling our 2006 T5 Transporter LWB 1.9tdi campervan to fund completion of our cottage renovation.
It is in excellent mechanical condition and had the ebgine reconditioned around 4,000 miles ago and all major components as well as sundries such as bushes, springs etc have been refreshed or replaced.
We bought it as a well thought out “day van” and have since upgraded it to a full “Swamper” look camper with burgundy pop top roof (with panoramic canvas), diesel heater, new Black Crow Swamper alloys , Comforser off road tyres and 4 inch suspension lift. It has proved solid and reliable.
Description is as follows:
Will be offered ull MOT and recent service including oil and coolant.
Mileage is 273000. It drives and handles like a vehicle with a third of that mileage and with the new engine should go on for many years to come.
The previous owner had the engine reconditioned , clutch, turbo, timing belt, radiator, intercooler and exhaust fitted around 269000 miles and the van drives beautifully.
The whole van is extremely solid and clean.
The underside has just been treated with Lanoguard and Lanoguard grease and is corrosion free.
Bodywork is extremely clean for age and has benefitted from use of the tailored car cover and Lanoguard treatment. Msny campervans suffer with mould and green algae on their roofs or around the seals on the pop-top but this one is kept undercover when when not in use
I have also added DodoMat sound proofing to the doors, bonnet and front to increase the sound deadening and a Noise Killer engine blanket.

Van was originally silver and was wrapped in VW Bronze, I have a roll of wrap which could be used for maintaining the finish or it could be returned to the original silver if desired.
Bad points:
No illumination on hearer controls
Front exterior door handles can extend too far (if pulled too hard) but push back easily
Passenger electric window is perhaps a little slow.
There is a Kenwood touch screen radio fitted by previous owner, but has not been wired in
(The dash Cam has a radio though)
Overall it is a very solid and impressive looking long wheelbase Swamper with a unique and well thought out conversion, now ready for a new adventure!!
