We are selling Josselin, our Wilderness Beaver 23ft. She is a fibreglass narrowboat, light enough to be towed with her outboard attached which means she doubles up as a floating caravan on a trailer. In this mode youβre able to travel anywhere you can dream of in UK, land and water! Road trip to Europe and beyond, then reverse her into any large or small body of water, lake, canal or river, ready to continue your adventure. Settling only 11 inches into the water (draft) means there are very few places Josselin canβt go. With her outboard down or up (depending on the depth of water) she manoeuvres and turns very easily. She can fit 3 adults and a small child. Sheβs welcomed in campsites with smiles and plenty of intrigue.
She was built in 2021 and comes with an electric lift Tohatsu 9.8hp engine. Her trailer (which is a dream to tow), comes with 5t securing ratchet straps, a winch for loading and unloading and a spare wheel.
Inside:
Her kitchen has a sink and drainage board, she has a Thetford Triplex 700 series cooker with an oven big enough for a chicken a potatoes, ample storage, and a roll out pantry. The work area can be extended with an occasional table that doubles as the dining table. (It can be moved to a second location via the adaptor the we have left in one of the draws for you to decide.) Her lounge/dining area flows out and onto the rear steering deck, where thereβs enough seating for guests inside and/or out. For safety she has a fire blanket, carbon monoxide alarm and two fire extinguishers. While captaining her there is a horn and running lights located just above the door. Her shower takes no room and is an extension of her entrance step. After pinning up a shower curtain that fits inside the basin, warm water is used and drains out via a pump at the back.
The toilet room has its own sliding door, window and light as well as storage for products, toilet paper and air freshener. The Thetford cassette toilet lives beneath a fold down lid. When the toilet is not in use it can double as a drying room as it is here where the hot air from the heating system enters into the cabin and can be sectioned off behind the sliding door. Opposite the toilet is the base section for the double bed extension.
Beyond the toilet is the single bed. By using the extension base in the toilet and the soft seating cushions opposite the double bed can be made with very little effort. Under the soft seating cushions is storage, that we partly use for bedding. Lifting the lid of the step that leads to the front deck reveals the fridge. With ample room for food for two for a couple of days. Can also fit wine or beer in its separate compartment. Temperature range is between +8 and -4, for those days when ice is required.
Heating and hot water for all of Josselin is produced via a combination boiler system. Her water tank is under the bed and can contain up to 220 litres filling cap on the front deck. She has a diesel heater that is piped through a heat exchanger when there is no solar. This produces hot water in minutes for the sink and shower as well as blowing hot/warm air into the cabin. The heat exchanger is linked to a clarifier hot water boiler that also runs off the solar power, trickle charging the water while afloat.
Note: We advise you not to travel on the trailer with water in the tank due to the extra weight.
1 litre of water = 1kg
She has two vented batteries beneath the front deck charged by a single roof mounted solar panel, and a vented battery in the rear for the engine only. The solar is routed through a Victron SmartSolar charge controller MPPT 100 1 20 (wireless) as well as fuses. The whole boat is 12v and created for adventuring. If we require mains power we carry an extension cord, and a Bluetti EB55 700w Portable Power Station and solar suitcase.
She has a lot of storage under the lounge/dining area. Her rear deck holds vented storage boxes for cooking gas, spare fuel on one side and engine fuel tank, diesel heater tank and mallet for mooring pins on the other. At the rear of the deck is the engine, as well as the mooring pins holder for when youβre on an adventure and need a place to stop off for the night.
She will come with corked keys, user guides for cooker, engine, heating system, as well as 2x lock keys
Please call and come down and view her by appointment only as sheβs moored in a marina just off the A3 near M25
