An absolute pleasure! The van felt like home right away. It was our first experience with a camper van; Dakoda was totally user friendly and equipped with everything we needed and more. I'm tall and we both had plenty of room standing to cook and slept comfortably. All the colors inside and out make you stand out in the best way without being too flashy. Got tons of compliments. Drives great with no problems parking because Dakoda is still compact and doesn’t take too much room. Best part of the experience were the owners! All are helpful and so kind. Treat you like family and make you feel like there aren’t any stupid questions. 100% recommend.

My partner and I had a great time hiring Meg. She had everything that was needed for a great trip for two. The bed was incredibly comfortable and there was plenty of storage. She was easy to drive and not so large that we ever had trouble parking, unlike some of the other camper vans we saw across NZ. The owners and Quirky Campers team were very responsive too.

We rented CLIFF from Quirky for our 6 week tour of New Zealand - the booking process was easy and we had clear and regular communication from Leanne throughout. As for CLIFF - wow what a fantastic van - he was our home for 6 weeks and we had a blast, covering most of both islands. Whether at a freedom campsite, a DOC or a Top 10 CLIFF did us proud - comfortable, well equipped and so easy to drive. We would highly recommend using Quirky Campers in New Zealand.

We rented Ollie camper for our honeymoon road trip on the south island. The best campervan we could think of, clean, cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our 12 day trip. As I was pregnant during our trip for me it was important to have comfortable van and Ollie met all our expectations. The owners are really nice and communication for the pick /drop off was pretty easy :)

We rented a van for 37 days. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we had to change our van 5 days into our trip but Dan and Leanne were more than accommodating and very helpful. They were really quick in their responses including when we accidentally locked ourselves outside the van in the middle of the night… the vans themselves were really good and just what we needed to tour both islands. They had clearly been thought about practicality and comfort wise. Could not recommend them enough. We are hoping to squeeze in another trip with them before we leave New Zealand

Meet and greet at pick up was seemless and Tania was so friendly and explained how everything worked. Hoodie the van is so cute with a bohemian vibe. Drives smoothly on open road. Bit of wind noise from the awning attachment on the roof. The kitchen butts up to the drivers seat so probably suits someone 5'7" or shorter as the seat cannot slide back for taller peps. Very simple clever water supply set up with foot pump. Get your water before setting up the bed as you can't access the foot pump once bed is set up. The 12v battery was so handy to charge my phone and it has a torch as well. There is a cute 3 bar tiny oil column heater if it gets chilly. The window insulation is easy to apply and worked well. Sadly the foam density of the sofa cushions is low and even with the mattress topper it was uncomfortable. It is so great the van is pet friendly! My blind doggo and I had a great 4 days in coromandel. ❤️ 🐾

My partner and I had a fantastic 4 weeks exploring New Zealand in Selma - one of the Quirky Campers fleet. From day one we fell in love with her cozy style. Monika and Graeme were fantastic hosts, and I couldn't recommend them, and Selma, enough. (Selma hired in March 2023)

The best campervan company ever. You can't go wrong! All the vans are unique. We hired Selma and loved all the personal touches that you wouldn't get if you booked with another company. Everything that is usually stressful with hiring a car was so easy: insurance, pick up, drop off all no worries. We could even bring our dog so what more could you want. We've already booked in another trip in the South Island.. Can't wait!

An epic NZ road trip that wouldn't have been the same if not done in a Quirky Camper! Thank you to Brendan, Bertie and Big Dunc, the 3 fabulously individual campervans who took turns in being our home away from home, reliably carrying us thousands of miles on varying legs of our journey, North and South Islands, through sun and storm. An especially big thank you to Leanne and Dan who run Quirky Campers NZ. A truly personal service, nothing was too much trouble, an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. You and your vans are legends! Thank you all for helping to make our trip such a success.

I’m can’t recommend these guys enough! We had an absolutely cracking adventure around the North Island in Barbara, and would do it all over again. The customer service and support is amazing, they were super prompt when a warning light came up to help us sort it, and just an all around pleasure to deal with through the trip. Barbara herself is an elegant old dear of a camper who turns heads and is always easy to find in the sea of white vans when parked up. We took a trip in September so it rained a lot but we could settle in with the projector and blankets all cosy and warm. Honestly, I could go on all day but if you’re thinking about it, go for it, we had the trip of a lifetime.
