Campervan Hire Questions
How much does it cost to hire a campervan?
Prices for campervan hire with Quirky Campers start from approximately £90 per night, but the final cost will vary depending on the campervan, booking length, season and day of the week. Click the ‘BOOK NOW’ button to get an instant quote for your preferred dates and campervan. Long-term discounts are available all year round for bookings over 7 days, and we also offer 10% last-minute discounts for same-week departures.
What is included in the campervan hire price?
The booking price includes everything you need to pick up and drive off in your campervan. Insurance, breakdown cover, kitchen equipment and cooking gas, if applicable, are all included. Please check the individual campervan pages for exact details of what else is included. Optional add-ons, such as bedding, bike racks, awnings, snow chains and BBQs, may also be available and vary from van to van.
Are all Quirky Campervans privately owned?
Yes, all our campervans are privately owned. This means each campervan is unique, with its own features, layout, location and booking criteria. Things like optional extras, pet rules, delivery, minimum stays and travel permissions can vary from van to van, so please check the individual campervan page before booking.
Is insurance included in the price?
Yes, all our campervans come with specialist comprehensive campervan hirer’s insurance. This usually covers up to 3 drivers aged between 23 and 75 at no extra cost for UK licence holders, unless stated otherwise on the campervan’s page. The excess, which is the maximum you pay in the event of damage, varies by vehicle and driver and can be between £1500 and £2000. Most hires are £1500. UK and EU residents can also choose an excess reimbursement policy through our recommended third-party provider Questor, allowing you to claim the excess back in the event of an accident, minus £100. We also recommend taking out your own travel insurance for extra peace of mind.
What is the cancellation policy?
Free cancellation is available if you cancel more than 90 days before the start date, or if you cancel within 24 hours of making your booking as part of our 24-hour cooling-off period*. After that, the cancellation policy depends on how far in advance you cancel your booking. Cancellations made 90–31 days before the start date receive an 80% refund, 30–15 days receive a 50% refund, and 14–8 days receive a 20% refund. Cancellations made 7 days or less before the start date are non-refundable. The 24-hour cooling-off period starts once the booking has been accepted by the owner and confirmed by email. These terms apply from 26/05/26 at midday. If you booked before this, please check the booking conditions in your confirmation email. See our full booking conditions here.
*Please note: the 24-hour cooling-off period does not apply to bookings made within 7 days of the booking start date.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes, each booking is subject to a £500 security deposit. Two days before your booking start date, a hold will be placed on your nominated card for this amount. This will be released one week after the booking end date, as long as the vehicle is returned safely and in the same condition as it was at the start of the booking.
Is breakdown cover included?
Yes, breakdown cover is included with all campervans. This includes roadside assistance and recovery. If recovery is required, you will be returned with the vehicle to the normal pick-up location for that campervan.
Where can I sleep overnight in the campervan?
You can stay overnight in campsites, campervan-friendly stopovers and some wild camping spots, depending on where you are travelling. It’s important to follow local laws, choose appropriate overnight places, respect the environment and leave no trace. We also have a helpful blog to guide you through where you can stay overnight in a campervan.
Are your campervans suitable for first-time campervan hirers?
Yes, many of our campervans are suitable for first-time campervan hirers. Each owner will give you a handover before you set off, so you know how everything works. We recommend choosing a campervan that suits your confidence level, checking the vehicle details carefully and asking any questions before you travel.
How does the campervan booking process work?
To book a campervan, choose your dates, select your campervan and follow the booking steps online. You’ll need to provide your booking information and pay either the deposit or full booking fee, depending on how soon your trip starts. Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive the details you need for the next steps.
