Head-Turning Rustic Campervan for Sale!

Beautiful Brendan is in search of a new home! After four years of unforgettable adventures and delighting Quirky’s customers, he’s on the hunt for new owners to love and take care of him! Long-time owners Tracy and Sharon are willing to part with him for $60,000 NZD or nearest offer. Here’s the scoop…

Note: These stunning photos were taken when Brendan was freshly listed for hire with us back in 2020 – he looks a bit more lived in now!

All about the vehicle

From his very conception, Brendan was designed and built for two, with comfort, lazy days and snuggly nights in mind. Not only does he look spectacular, he smells of freshly milled timber, which automatically transports you to another place. He hails from the Coromandel and all the timber that makes up Brendan’s interior is ‘Pinasta Pine’ that was felled, milled, dried and dressed locally in the Coromandel.

Brendan is a 2-berth 2018 V80 Biggest LDV – diesel, automatic – with just under 103,000 km on the clock… so heaps of life left!

He is 6.2 meters long and 2.6 meters tall. He has two sets of keys and you can drive him with a standard car licence, and he’s got a Cerificate of Fitness which expires in June 2024. His current registration expires on the 24th July 2024. Note: The COF is only required while he is hired out to customers… if his new owners only want Brendan for personal use then he can be reverted back to a WOF.

Let’s head inside…

Brendan has 3 seats in the cab up front (with 3-point seat belts), and plenty of storage with the cleaning supplies. He also comes with a Bluetooth stereo and Bluetooth speaker, so you can play your own tunes… useful in places where there is no radio reception!

Brendan’s interior height is 1.8 meters so most people can stand up comfortably and he’s well insulated, so you’ll be cosy whatever the weather.

Preparing and enjoying food

There’s a 30 litre fridge drawer tucked underneath the bed and an old jam-pan works as the kitchen sink. Oh-so-quirky! To cook, there’s a two burner camp stove for use outside… Brendan comes with a handy trestle table for this purpose. He also comes with cutlery, crockery, glasses and mugs for two, a range of utensils, 2 pans and a fry pan all with lids, mixing/serving bowl and kettle.

Staying fresh on the go

Brendan doesn’t skimp on luxury. Behind a wooden door by his entrance is a mini bathroom with a much-coveted fixed toilet and shower! Plenty of room for a hot, rejuvenating shower after a long day!

And so to bed…

Brendan has a clever couch/bed system, and when out for sleeping is 1.2m wide and 1.9 long with a comfy mattress and protector. There are coffee sacks on all windows for complete privacy. For those rainy days, there are some interesting books.

The power system

Brendan has a 300w solar panel on his roof, and a 2200w inverter, this gives On-Grid/Off-Grid capability. 240amp – hours of battery power for all your charging needs. Or, if you want to pitch up on a camp site, he has electric hook-up so you can use the multiple 230v sockets.

Is it self-contained?

Brendan has a fixed toilet and therefore IS suitable for freedom camping despite the law change in June 2023 regarding self-containment certification. He currently has the blue self-containment warrant but should sail through the new green warrant certification with no need for modifications. There are 78 litre fresh and 62 litre grey water tanks (with tank level gauge), hot water via a heat exchange hot water cylinder, and a flushing swivel chemical toilet.

Recoup your costs by renting out your campervan with Quirky Campers

We’d love for Brendan to continue being part of the Quirky Campers NZ collection for hire. You could be recouping your costs when you’re not using it and potentially break even in about 2-3 years… all while you have your very own bach on wheels!
