Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

– Diesel 2198cc, 113BHP
– MOT due 6 Dec 2023
– 6-speed manual
– 33 MPG average
– Registered panel van with DVLA
– Replaced fuel injector, wiper blades, battery, oil and filter last 12 months
– Van was previously a trade van, so old bolts are present on side of van, and there used to be superficial rust on the exterior, which we removed and protected with new paint as part of the conversion. Some dents/dings/scratches in paint work around van present since we took ownership.
– Rust-free chassis (as commented on by 2 independent mechanics)
– Rear doors replaced as part of conversion, to have rear windows for nice views!
– Vehicle history – we are the 3rd owners, as of January 2022. No recorded accidents. All service and MOT receipts available and included with purchase.
– 1 key only, with manual security lock (fob disconnected as security feature)
– GAS FREE van, allowing you to travel and sleep safely, and not worry about finding refill points or different laws across the UK and Europe.
– Bertha is a great van to hire out and make money! Weekends in the off season can see you getting between £100-150.

Conversion Description

Bertha is a self converted and fully off grid campervan who is waiting to share some memories with you! She has three seats in the cab and is suitable for sleeping two adults comfortably. She is a Ford Transit MWB and semi high roof, where standing is comfortable for anyone below 170cm. We lived comfortably in Bertha for 5 months travelling around the UK and Europe and loved it! The interior is very homely and cosy, allowing you to comfortably unwind after a long day.

We are regretably selling Bertha because we are moving back to Australia at the end of April.

Kitchen is fully equiped with:

– large sink 40cm x 40cm stainless steel
– running water from submersible 12V pump (Whale) and pull out tap which doubles as an outdoor shower, cold water only

Beds Description

Bedroom:
– hand-crafted bench seating style bed that converts for sleeping by lowering dining table
– 15cm foam mattress (150cm x 170cm) which consists of 4 separate cushions with hand-made machine-washable cushion covers fastened with velcro
– 2 x dimmable bedside reading lights
– rails above bed with hanging baskets for storage
– black out window coverings for privacy
– above bed skylight for star gazing on a clear night

For the dining table, we have used a gas-lift mechanism as found in office chairs. Lowering requires lifting of lever and leaning on the table – it can be done by one person, but is far easier with 2. Due to the custom height of the seating to suit the van height, the table has 2 leg supports in addition to the central gas lift support, that don’t reach the floor and therefore have wooden blocks which they must rest on (please see attached photos). Honestly, this part isn’t the best design, but was the way we tackled the problem! It has worked well for us during our extensive travels though.
