The van is an ex British Telecom mobile workshop with windows all round. We are its second owners and converted it in 2015. It has a 2l FWD diesel engine which returns 31mpg and provides plenty of power on both motorways and country roads. These are solid engine with ours having done 106k. It has recently had a new starter motor and in 2020 had the clutch replaced during the changing of an oil seal. The body has had some rust which has been treated and some welding.
This unique selfbuild van is already and set to take its new owners on plenty of adventures. Converted in 2015 it was designed with plenty of storage while mantaining a sense of space and openess. The interor is fully insulated and coverd in 4 way stretch carpeting. Heating is provided by a recently refurbished Eberspacher diesal heater. Fitted with a 100w solar panel means that this van can happily keep you powered up when camping off grid. It is also supplied with a spare solar panel. In the kitchen area there is a two ring gas hob with glass cover and an absorbtion fridge powered from 12 volt when the engine is running and gas otherwise. Both are hard plumbed in by a gas engineer. There is also a fitted sink with cold tap with cover when not in use. Water is stored in a 20l container with submersible pump and 25l grey water tank. The kitchen is designed to maximise the food preperation area for those who like to cook and is positioned at the rear of the van to allow for cooking from outside as well! The interior is CNC routed 12mm ply giving a high quality finish. Storage comprises of under bed drawers and overhead lockers and above cab storage shelf. The floor is finished in a heavy duty vinyl ready to allow for muddy boots and paws from hiking in the wilderness. Lighting is an LED strip light and several LED spot lights. There is custom built storage under the van for a BBQ (included) and firewood. For a real off grid experience there is a roof mounted 18l solar shower.
It has a lengthwise sofa which pulls out to create a double 6’2″x4’6″bed
