A handcrafted, fully customisable base conversion, with top spec appliances that fulfil all the necessary requirements to go off grid with access to electrics, cooking facilities and a luxury double-bed.
Nothing has been left to chance with this camper base. Fully sound deadened and insulated with a beautiful wood-finish.
I have spent the last year converting the van alongside work, and tested it out in various spots across the UK to ensure it is fit for purpose.

All the functional necessities accounted for:

Fully insulated with a combination of sheep’s wool and PIR board, the van holds heat extremely well and is always cool in the summer. Combined with the maxxair fan, it allows for temperature to be controlled and maintained whatever the weather. A full vapour barrier was also installed to aid with moisture management.

The decision to use a movable single gas hob allows for large amounts of space at all times when not cooking and the flexibility to either cook indoors or outside the van in good weather! The Cadac Safari Chef 2 also comes with flat and ridged griddle plates, as well as a pizza stone for that perfect evening of easy or complicated meals.

The maxxair fan fitted above the kitchen area is perfect for extraction during cooking. It also provides a great source of air-conditioning – all you need to do is press a button to turn the fan the opposite way to push air into the van. There are controls on the fan itself and a remote control provided.

Lights installed on each headboard above the fixed bed. These swivel – perfect for reading late into the night as well as lighting up the back of the van.

Electrics:
A pre-wired fuse box offers a ‘plug-and-play’ system for your convenience. Electrics in the van are capable of being modularly increased, so you can add all of the appliances you might need on the road.

Renogy 50 amp DC/DC charge controller charges the batteries fully after just a short drive. Also opens the possibility of using solar energy to trickle charge the leisure battery.
2 x twin 12v usb sockets (one beside the bed, one in the cab for fast charging while driving)

Underneath the fixed bed is a huge amount of storage space, usually home to the following with lots of extra space: mountain bike, skis, 6′ surfboard, and kitesurfing equipment.

The cab is clean and seats are in good condition.

Structural supports laid beneath floor and wall-facing to attach counters/shelving units/furniture as you see fit.

The van has some cosmetic damage (see images). I chose not to have the body worked on/wrapped to keep the vehicle versatile.
