In our ownership it has had a new turbo, brake disks, pads and lines all around as well as a new offside front wheel bearing. It has had a service every year with it’s MOT. Anything the van has needed, it has had including a full ford service with health check after we bought it.
Bought in 2022 the van was previously owned by an office partition wall company so has not had multiple drivers or stop/start journeys like an ex-delivery van.
During the conversion, a high attention to detail was spent to ensure it will be a solid base for a camper for years to come. Any rust internally was treated before sound deadening and insulation fitted. It features 25mm insulation under the floor, 50mm in the roof and 100mm in the walls.
The camper will comfortably sit 4/5 people in ‘day mode’ with a slide out table. A projector screen is fitted to the rear which can be pulled up for use during the day or night. The bed easily slides out to ‘night mode’ requiring little to no effort to prepare the van to be slept in. There is plenty of storage both in the kitchen area with soft close drawers and push latches, as well as in the overhead cabinets. Under each seat bench there is ample room to store extra supplies for long trips as well as bedding. The Thetford PortaPotti is housed under the end of the sliding door side bench, to allow access when the bed is slid out. Additionally for a child, a travel cot fits in front of the sliding door and can be stowed away behind the driver’s seat.
Above the hidden toilet is the control panel where you will find the Victron screen to monitor your current charge/discharge level of the electrical system as well as tank levels. The heater controls are next to this, although there is a Bluetooth app available. Underneath are matching brushed chrome switches to control power to the fridge, water pump, USB sockets and master switch for the roof fan. The ceiling light strips are controlled by the switches beside this along with the under cabinet lights which also have their own switches on each overhead cabinet so you can configure the lighting dependant on how much light you need.
To the rear of the van there is a large garage area which houses the electrical set up and fresh water tank, with lots of room to store for all of your camping accessories such as chairs, tables and whatever else you need. This area is illuminated with LED strips which can be controlled from the living side or the rear of the van. The garage area is separated from the living area with a tambour door.
There are air vents from the diesel/electric combi boiler/heater fitted along the plinth of the kitchen, from the garage area towards the front as well as on a 90 degree elbow to blow across the back doors to combat any drafts on a cold night.
The sliding window on the sliding door, as well as 2 non-opening windows on the rear of the van have blinds which also act as thermal insulation. There two sliding windows beside the bed have fly nets and offer great airflow combined with the MaxxAir fan to keep cool on hot nights.
Opening the rear doors, to the left you have USB (A + C) and 12V Cigarette Lighter ports to power any devices. On the right is the water filling cap as well as an external shower, perfect for hosing off sandy feet or for an outdoor shower.
There is a C channel awning rail fitted to the outside of the van which we use with a canopy style awning when we need extra shelter.
With two adults, a 30kg dog and a baby, a full tank of diesel, 40L of water on board as well as clothes, food, chairs etc – the van weighs 3500kg so you should always be legal on both gross and individual axle weights.
