The Vangear “WOODY” concept – twin berth

Vangear is a long established campervan company. We are a manufacturer of campervan pods and retail online. Our camper pods use unique and original designs and therefore the Vangear campervan conversion necessitated thinking outside the box too. We will try to use the next few pages to explain the Vangear “WOODY”” concept in five base points.

Vangear Woody concept #1

We have made extensive use of Oak wood ply using it on the side panels and counter top. By going for a low level down the side Woody-Pods combined with a RIB rock & roll bed we have formed a wide 1300mm bed and a sense of space with the low level units giving elbow room and lots of worktop. There is a top opening into a large storage area.
An important aspect is ventilation, light and movement of air. Vangear has fitted opening window and here are front door vents too.
A light and airy feeling is created by the fitted windows, keeping in touch with the landscape view, but for night time there are curtains and a windscreen cover with LED lighting overhead.

Vangear Woody Concept #2 practical & easy set up

By combining the RIB rock & roll and a Vangear Woody-Pods we have created a living area. There is a drawer fridge powered by a Bluetti power pack and space for a porta potti 335. With a convenient table at hand clipped to the unit end and which fits onto the floor mount. The RIB rock & roll bed is NCAP certificated with integral seat belts and Isofix, adjustable headrests and a tilting rear leaf. Again the easy operation of the bed and seat make transforming your campervan into night time mode simple and fast. The Bluetti Elite 100 V2 has 1024Wh, 1800W, 12v and 240v power.

Vangear Woody Concept #3 Storage

An important aspect is storage, you need room to put stuff! We have spent time with our design to maximize available storage areas.
The side unit has a large storage area under a top opening at the rear and access is via the rear doors leading to a surprisingly large area for camping seats etc.
Under the RIB seat is a area ideal for bedding or a porta potti 335, the rear leaf of the RIB bed folds up for a large boot. The Woody-Pod has room behind flip down top opening and two opening door for your cooking needs.
Under the twin passenger seat which tilts up to expose the under seat area.

Vangear Woody concept #4 Cooking

Cooking is of course part of the camping experience! There is a 20 litre fridge run from the power pack. There’s an electric hob and sink with water bottles (10 litre fresh + 10L waste) integrated into the kitchen pod.

For such a conversion we picked the Ford Transit Custom. A camper with an up to date design including great driving comfort and handling, mixed with modern technology and a wide interior.
