General overview:

This van was built with a no-expense-spared attitude. This was my second conversion – the first conversion was a labour of love, and I instantly learned what I did – and didn’t – want, from my second build. This Renault Master – Pierre, as we have lovingly named him – has encapsulated everything I needed from a build at this time in my life, and it has done the job perfectly.

I bought this van at 82,000 miles and have put just under 30,000 miles on the clock. I would love to say that this was all travelling miles, but in reality, half of that was spent using it as a daily vehicle during the conversion process. At the beginning of 2023, we set off on a journey around Europe in this van, which took us over 15,000 miles and over 16 countries, until returning to the UK in November 2023. He never missed a beat.

Myself, my partner, our dog – and a cat we rescued halfway through our travels – spent 11 months in this vehicle, living and working. We spent just over two months in France in the height of the winter season, where we were able to live comfortably – and thanks to the Truma – in warmth!, before heading to warmer climes for the rest of the year. Aside from being sound mechanically (I have service history from when I purchased the vehicle), the actual build itself does everything you need to live off-grid. I ran my computer all day, every day, charged laptops and photography equipment, phones and other electrical items, even during the winter season. Throughout our trip, we went to a physical camp-site to charge the batteries / hook up twice, and the rest of the time, we fully relied on solar power and didn’t even use up the capacity of the batteries. It was truly, off-grid home on wheels.

When not out travelling (Jan 2023 – Nov 2023), the vehicle has been stored in dry storage in my workshop where he was built. The only reason that we are selling is because we have returned to the UK to real jobs and done the whole adult thing of buying a house… It’s a painful sale, but we want someone to enjoy him as much as we have enjoyed him. He doesn’t deserve to be sat in storage and I’m afraid that our current commitments don’t allow for us to travel as much as we would like.

I am more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

I have recently had the van weighed and without passengers, it weighs 3400kg. As I was aware that the axle weights of the vehicle could be up-rated to 3950kg, I chose to do this as it would allow for more flexibility on the stuff that we carried throughout our journey. I wanted to travel with peace of mind – and also know that if I wanted to bring a vintage sideboard home from France on our way home I could, without worry. I did a C1 licence to drive this, which cost about £1000. If you are interested and only hold a normal licence, please don’t worry, get in touch anyway and come and have a look, as I am happy to negotiate on cost if you want to do this licence.

Keen for a quick sale. This van is fully ready to go off on its next adventure.
