Vehicle Description

This is a Volkswagen Transporter T6 T28 campervan, first registered in January 2018 and manufactured in 2018, finished in an attractive green. It is currently taxed and ready to drive away. The van is powered by Volkswagen’s proven 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine (1968 cc), producing a strong, reliable and economical drive that is well suited to both long-distance touring and everyday use. CO₂ emissions are 159 g/km, and the vehicle meets Euro 6 emissions standards. Fuel economy is typically in the region of high-30s to low-40s mpg on mixed driving, depending on load and driving style. Mileage is 79,000 miles, which is in line with regular, sensible use for its age. The engine, gearbox and drivetrain are all in very good condition, with no known mechanical issues. The vehicle has been well maintained, and all paperwork is present and correct. The bodywork is in very good condition, with only minor age-related marks consistent with careful use. There are no major dents, corrosion or accident damage. The van sits on a T28 chassis, with a revenue weight of 3000 kg, providing a good balance between payload capacity and everyday drivability. Vehicle type approval is N1, with a 2-axle rigid body wheelplan. Overall, this is a clean, honest and well-looked-after VW T6, forming an excellent base vehicle for the camper conversion and offering reassurance to any prospective buyer looking for reliability, longevity and sensible running costs.

Conversion Description

Aero is a beautifully crafted, architect-designed VW campervan conversion, created with sustainability, durability and everyday usability at its core. Designed and built by Steph & John (architects specialising in sustainable design), Aero reflects a careful balance of thoughtful detailing, high-quality materials and real-world camper practicality.

The van was fully stripped back and rebuilt from the inside out, including new window installations, extensive soundproofing and insulation, and a hand-laid ship-deck style floor. Hidden storage compartments are integrated throughout, ensuring the interior remains calm, uncluttered and highly functional.

The interior has been designed as a flexible living space. By day, the layout provides a generous, open area to relax and dine; by night, it converts neatly into two comfortable sleeping options (rock and roll bed and pop-top). A pop-top roof provides excellent headroom and a light-filled interior, significantly enhancing comfort and liveability.

The kitchen area is compact yet well resolved, featuring a hand-crafted copper worktop, hand-fitted sink and tap, double hob and fridge. Storage has been carefully considered to accommodate cooking equipment and everyday essentials without compromising space. An optional outdoor solar shower adds further versatility for beach days and longer trips.

Aero has been designed for off-grid travel, with a solar-powered electrical system supporting lighting, fridge and USB charging. The system is simple, robust and well suited to low-impact, sustainable travel. Durable finishes throughout make the van practical for real adventures, including pet-friendly travel.

Every design decision – from the hand-stained joinery to the Cole & Son palm jungle fabric ceiling – has been made with longevity, repairability and environmental impact in mind. The result is a campervan that feels calm, characterful and solidly built, without being overcomplicated.

Aero is not a mass-produced conversion; it is a carefully considered, design-led campervan that offers something genuinely distinctive for buyers looking for quality, sustainability and personality.

Beds Description

Aero sleeps up to four people and features two full double beds, making it ideal for couples, families or friends travelling together.

Pop-top bed:
The elevating roof houses a full-width double bed, providing a comfortable sleeping space for two adults. The pop-top offers excellent ventilation and headroom, creating a light and airy sleeping environment that feels well separated from the main living area below.

Rock and roll bed:
The rear seating converts easily into a double rock and roll bed, suitable for two adults. The mechanism is simple and robust, allowing the bed to be set up quickly for overnight use and folded away during the day to maximise living space.

Both beds are well sized for adult use and offer flexibility depending on how the van is being used, whether for couples wanting separate sleeping areas or families travelling together.
