Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

I’m really sad to be selling ‘Myrtle’, our amazing camper / climbing van, but am looking for a SPEEDY SALE due to relocation.

She’s fresh from a check-up at the garage and has an MOT until the end of January 2026.

Myrtle is in excellent running condition and has many more miles to go. I got her last year as a fully serviced ex-BT van; she’s had an oil change/service since. All work has been done with the intention of keeping her and running her for another 100k+ miles of adventures (and commuting/supermarket shops…).

She’s easy to park and reverse (has sensors)

Conversion Description

Myrtle’s conversion is essentially new, and was mostly made or overseen by a professional woodworker. She got a little bit of use last year but it was my intention to keep her not to sell.

She was converted with the following in mind:
– being eco-friendly
– lasting years
– a layout that’s light and flexible enough to use for every day (she fits 2 x car seats for kids comfortably)
– basic but beautiful facilities
– flexibility between being able to use features ‘in’ the van, and outside (e.g. in our bell tent, cooking and sleeping out) as I love wild places
– LOTS of storage for my kids and climbing/mountaineering gear (which is often wet and muddy…)

In no particular order she has:
– roof rack
– full soundproofing (Dodo)
– full insulation; Scottish winter mountaineering-grade cozy / cool in summer (Dodo thermal foam applied over soundproofing AND Diall recycled wool in all deadspace areas, inc cab; recycled yoga mats under floor)
– wood-clad ceiling
– tinted window put into side door professionally by Lakeland windowscreens
– washable floor-board-look flooring – platform extends over original steps to increase floorspace
– two sliding doors which means the kitchen can be used from outside as well as inside
– beautiful, reclaimed oak kitchen counter made bespoke for the van by a local Lakeland craftsman – this features sunset-pink epoxy in the grain to make it super-smoth (the swirls of
resin glow in the dark and look amazing at night)
– under-counter storage for a coolbox (would also fit Dometic-type fridge), gas cooker shelf and water/provisions (25l fresh; <25l grey) – it was designed to put a standard-sized sink in,
but when I started using the van I found I didn't need one and actually preferred having the extra counter space and just using a 'normal' washing up bowl.
– sofa which pulls out in two sections to make an L shaped sofa for entertaining/accessing the kitchen while inside, and also a nearly-full-size double bed
– cupboard with shelves for clothes, etc. and huge lower 'garage' area accessible from rear doors for gear
– huge amounts of easily accessible under-bed storage, will fit a bell tent/bouldering mat alongside other gear
– bed platform will remove completely for carrying MTBs / house moves / lightening the load if you're just commuting for a while
– rear step which doubles as the best bench for sunset drinks / a post-run brew
– accessible D-rings by all doors to secure dogs, bikes, etc.

Myrtle is ready to go and use, but still has space for your own personal finishing touches. She needs new sofa cushions as a friend's dog recently ate them… I've been surviving off a bouldering mat for the last few weeks. I decided against fitting a sink, diesel heater and power once I started using Myrtle overnight as I genuinely haven't felt the need for them (I don't want power when I'm in wild spaces beyond my usual battery pack to charge my phone, GPS and headtorch, but if I changed my mind but she was designed for them all to be easily retro-fitted).

I'll be genuinely upset to see her go and would love her to find a like-minded home.
Please feel free to get in touch with questions/offers/anything else 🙂
