Good condition for age – some rust around the wheel arches (see pictures) and age related marks but otherwise sound
I’ve owned the van 3 years and have maintained it regardless of cost (all receipts available)
Conversion completed by the previous owner during lockdown
In it’s former life, this was a 9 seater taxi/fleet vehicle
This is a fully off-grid, cosy but spacious custom build
A thoughtful layout has been created to a high level of finish by the previous owner
It includes everything you could need for a long trip (or van life, if you’re so inclined!)
Electrics
2x brand new 110AH leisure batteries
Charged by 2x 130W roof mounted solar panels and a split charging system when driving, providing more than enough power for days at a time
4x USB charging sockets
Seating/Bed
Comfortable L-shaped seating with removable/washable cushion covers
This can be accompanied with a detachable, fully adjustable table for dining/activities
Seating pulls out to convert into a cosy but ample sized double bed in just 1min!
Kitchen
Easy to clean and hygienic, modern kitchen units and counters
Double ring gas hob, fuelled by a 13kg butane bottle
22L Fridge/Freezer – this is an energy efficient, trunk style with a single compartment (which can be set as one or the other)
Stylish sink and tap, feeding cold water from 25L water tanks via an electric pump
Drainage to a large 75L underslung grey water tank with external drainage tap
Shower/Toilet Cubicle
Shower cubicle with rechargeable, battery powered shower
Portable, chemical toilet
A cleverly positioned door closes off the cubicle tidily when not in use but provides privacy to the rear of the van when opened
Storage
Loads of storage including;
Large under-seat area
Above-cabin compartment
4x soft-close kitchen drawers with magnetic latches
Under-sink cupboard
Shelving and coat racks to the rear of the van!
Flooring
The nicely finished, engineered bamboo flooring is hard-wearing and easy to clean
Heating/Insulation
A 5W diesel heater warms the van in minutes (I’ve tested this in temperatures as low as -8!!)
Controlled by a control panel with digital display
Insulation includes a mixture of closed cell insulation and Diall recycled bottle insulation rolls
The bulk head behind the cabin further helps to regulate temperature
Lighting/Ventilation
6x touch sensitive spot lights can be switched on / off independently, helping energy efficiency
An opening skylight provides lots of natural light and ventilation when it’s too cold/wet to have the doors open!
Tinted windows provide excellent privacy
Insulating, blackout blinds keep the early morning sun out on lazy mornings, as well as effectively blocking internal light from being seen from outside (handy for wild campers!)
I bought the van in November 2022 with it unused following it’s conversion (in new condition with the fridge and portable toilet still in their packaging)
The van is registered in the V5 as a ‘Van/Side Windows’, as it was a 9 seater minibus style van in its former life
We’ve covered around 12k miles together around England and Wales over the past 3 years and had some great trips and created some amazing memories but I’m just not getting enough use out of it any more, so time for it to go!
