For sale is my handcrafted interpretation of a overland camper. ‘Deli’ is a capable camper sleeping 4 with seats for 5 passengers. Could sleep more if you put people up in the drive away awning.

The vehicle in summary: 3.0 V6 petrol with LPG, 96L tank, on LPG register, super select 4WD (can be engaged whilst driving), locking centre diff and hi/lo ratio transfer box, 4 good mud and snow tyres fitted.
Registered as a MOTOR CARAVAN on the V5. LPG conversion done by Autogas Cumbria 10th Feb 2018. Correctly registered on UK LPG Register. Comes with set of LPG filling adapters for travel on the continent and original Mitsubishi hydraulic Jack. Spare wheel will be supplied but needs to travel in vehicle or on bike rack. Was a Grade 4 Japanese import imported for me by ‘adventuremotorvehicles’ Carnforth a delicta import specialist. The L400 Delica is essentially a Mitsubishi shogun chassis with people carrier body attached.
The Camper Conversion: Heated (Ducted Propex Heater) Rooftop tent(Auto House Mini) with 4 inch memory foam double mattress a room with a view enough space in the rooftop tent for all bedding, duvet pillows and sheets to stay in it, 12V LED light. Camper sleeps 2 on a electric inflating air mattress. Seats 4 in camper in multiple configuration, with yellow Formica topped pivoting able that matches the kitchen unit. Deli, is correctly registered with DVLA as a campervan on the V5.
Custom aluminium storage rack build around really useful boxes, takes 4 of 20 L and 2 of 40 L (No Porta Pottie/Microwave) or 3 of 20L and 1 of 40 L and Porta Pottie and Microwave, your choice… The really useful boxes are great as they can be used outdoors to form tables/stools to sit on.
Condition:
Rooftop Tent is Excellent.
Deli Mechanically is good, air con blows cold, engine has had regular oil and filter changes, timing belt and crankshaft pully bolt done in 2022, rear suspension springs replaced with 20% stiffer ones from Millnar off road. Air ride hight adjustable Monroe Air Max rear dampers fitted 2024. Recently re wax oiled with Ankor Wax 2024. No corrosion to chassis, photos available. Wheels removed and bead blasted and powder coated gloss black 2024 New Radiator and coolant header tank fitted early on in my ownership 2018. Large box of receipts available for inspection. Magnecor ignition cables, new coil pack and spark plugs in 2020. All fluids, diffs gearbox etc done in 2018.
Electrics and gas all work well.
Bodywork has been machine polished and has come up well, some paint chips and scrapes, check the pictures Deli is 23 years old and well travelled.
Interior is OK.
I am selling, as I am looking to build a bigger more capable overland rig for retirement, based on Pinzgauer or Unimog that could be lived in and need the pennies from Deli to fund this new project.
You are strongly encouraged to come and have a look, Deli is 23 years old, she has been use on adventures and loved and cherished, but if you are looking for a pristine, ‘normal’ VW T5 this maybe wont suit you, she is ‘quirky’ but capable. Think rugged and practical rather than beautiful. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder….

Storage is mostly a custom aluminium storage rack build around really useful boxes, takes 4 of 20 L and 2 of 40 L (No Porta Pottie/Microwave) or 3 of 20L and 1 of 40 L and Porta Pottie and Microwave, your choice… The Really useful boxes are great as they can be used outdoors to form tables/stools to sit on.
Overhead locker with sliding doors and internal lighting.
Pull out larder in the kitchen unit and storage shelves for cutlery and pots/pans, all contained in smaller really useful boxes. Silicon folding washing up bowl and chopping boards, silicon fold flat cullender and salad bowl.

SLEEPING
Sleeps 2 in rooftop tent heated. and 2 in main body of the van.
Roof Top Tent heated with ducted air Propex heater. 130cm wide and 190cm long. 4 inch reflex and memory foam mattress sleeps two adults.
The van sleeps two seats fold flat, and air mattress electrically inflates to go on top sleeps 2 adults, 5′ 8 tall, though the side that has steering wheel would be more comfortable for 5’6″ or shorter person, the bed in the van is 140cm wide.
