Reluctant Sale of my home for the past 2 years. Due to recent seizures, I can no longer drive, so am currently working out a place to move into. I am an adventure photographer/filmmaker and converted the van myself, the 5th one I have done, having lived in vans for 5 years. I take pride in the practical and homely conversion.

The Conversion
– Insulated with closed cell spray foam, prevents condensation, acts as sound dampening, and fills all the gaps.
– Pine Clad
– Roof light and openable vent above the cooker
– Yatch port windows on the back and one side
– Tea shelf beside bed (crucial in any van)

– Roof pocket storage down one side
– Under-bed storage, half accessed from the boot and half from under the mattress to optimize space
– 3-drawer filing cabinet storage
– Above cab insulated storage to prevent condensation
– Dual gas hob and sink with an electric tap with calor gas bottle (much larger, cheaper, and more accessible than camping Gaz)
– Storage under the cooker
– 10L fresh water and 10L waste water containers
– Log burner with hotplate
– Seating for 2 with under-seat storage
– Pull out table
– Solid Oak floor
– Single bed with extension to queen size with custom foam mattress
– Recent pink / Purple Zinc oxide paint job
– Surf board external side mounts

Electrics
– AGM leisure battery
– Mechanical switch split charger, allow jump starting from the leisure battery and is much more reliable that the voltage-sensitive ones
– 200W Monocrystalline solar panel (Cant remember exactly 180 – 220W)
– Epever MPPT solar charge controller
– Vicrton Energy pure Sine wave inverter Phoenix 12/250
– 2 x 240v sockets and 2 x 240v USB sockets
– 12v Cool box hardwired under the seat
– 2 x 12v USB sockets
– 4 x Spotlights on a dimmer switch
– Remote-controlled fairy lights
– Boot light

Imperfections
– Cosmetic scratches/dent
– Cosmetic damage to the driver’s seat
– Cosmetic damage to driver’s footwell
– Small rust patches, as with age
– Tabe is stiff to pull out, although functions fine
– Mattress has a coffee stain because I spilled a half mug on it ……
– Small crack in windshield (Been filled with resin, but still visible)
– Filing cabinet drawers are awkward to open
– The slate above the stove missing on one side
