The van is in original condition and drives perfectly on its air suspension and sumo front springs and is in excellent condition inside and out.
My build criteria was to create a space that a family of four could spend time inside the van even on a miserable cold day. This also needed to work in very cold climates from Scotland to the Alps as well as hotter summer holidays.
This is the reason why I over specced the insulation using a combination of Dodo matt hex sound insulation, Dodo super liner 10mm, Dodo Thermo Fleece 50mm on all the wall and ceiling. The floor is also lined with 15mm of celotex covered by ply.
The ceiling has been lined with 15mm of cedar which is also very warm and lightweight. The cedar also smells amazing.
The ceiling height is 6ft 10 inches 186mm so this also gives a feeling of space.
Haggis has loads of storage and worktop space so cooking is a real pleasure. She also holds 2 x Shurflo LPG bottles that can be filled from the outside at a cost of about £5.
The large top load fridge slides out on heavy duty front runner sliders and can be loaded from outside or inside the van.
The Truma Combi boiler takes care of the heating and hot water all controlled either by the phone app or the control panel by the door. Check on the battery state though the victron energy app.

Haggis has been replated by Sv Tech to 4000 Kg from 3500 Kg To do this all the suspension has been upgraded to AS Air Suspension UK Ltd and the front suspension includes Sumo springs. Black Rhino Alloys with 17 inch BF Goodrich All terrain tyres really improve the ride.
There is nothing about this build that doesn’t work. Loads of space, very comfortable off grid Home from Home experience.

I have installed a removable bunk bed W5ft x L6ft. If left in place this can be used with the dining set up below.
This also offers a large storage are for all the bedding making it very simple to remake the beds.
The lower bed cushions are 5 inches thick and really comfy. They also double up as the dining sofa space.
Upper bed mattress is 4 inches thick memory foam mattress used in VW conversions.
