Introducing Iorek…
Iorek is a reliable, comfortable and robust van, perfect for a family of three, couple or single person to live in/holiday off-grid, and can sleep up to 5, if friends join you.
The permanent double and single bunk make bedtimes easy (well as easy as they can be with kids! 😉 they also serve as additional playspace on wet weather days.
Iorek is packed full of storage. During lockdown as a family of 3, we stored 2 weeks worth of food, in drawers and cupboards easily accessible to the kitchen.
Under sofa storage is plentiful for games etc, whilst there are two large drawers and a ‘garage’ area accessible from the back for all ‘outdoor’ items and excess. All our clothes easily fitted in the over cab locker.
The extensive solar panels and new leisure batteries mean, even when working remotely and living off-grid, power is never an issue. There are handy USB ports for overnight charging. I work as a psychologist so we created a soundproof board which turns the cab into a separate office space, meaning you can do confidential meetings/calls without fear of disturbance. The board can be tucked on the top bunk whilst driving and also serves as extra heat insulation for overnight. It means that even when parking up on the side of a Swiss mountain in late October we rarely turned the heating on, as the heat from cooking dinner kept us cosy until bedtime. On really chilly nights the diesel heater warms Iorek in about 10 mins and a supply direct into the shower room means you can wash without getting chilly.
The Simploo with fan system means no chemical (or other!) smells and is easy to empty – no elsan point required.
Iorek has served us well. But now it’s time for someone else’s adventure!

Vehicle:
Mercedes Sprinter 313 cdi 2012, high-roof, XLWB, graphite grey – very low mileage: 26,000.
Bodywork in excellent condition – expected wear and tear.
All vehicle documents and service history present.
MOT: 5 months (due Oct 21) – passed Oct 20 MOT with no issues.
Gas Safe Certificate (organised for May 21).
EICR 230V Certificate (issued May 21).

LPG:
32L (2 x 16L) underslung LPG tanks with external UK bayonet filler fitting (Europe adaptor pack included) and internal level indicator (Sept 2020) – Gas Safety organised for May 2021.

Water:
30L underslung fresh-water tank, 30L underslung grey-water tank, Malaga 4E LPG/240V water heater and Fiamma water pump. Integrated Cleo tip-up sink/shower unit. Simploo composting toilet (Sept 2020). 15m and 30m Hozelock hoses with Hozelock connectors.

Ventilation/Light/Heating:
2 x side windows (near and offside) with blackout blinds and mosquito nets. 2 x Seitz roof vents with blinds and mosquito nets. 1 x FIamma roof vent in toilet/shower cubicle. Propex HeatSource 2000 LPG heater.

Kitchen:
Waeco Coolmatic 12V/240V Fridge, Smev hob/sink unit, Smev oven/grill, external LPG BBQ fitting.

Storage:
Storage cupboards above cab and under and over settee. 3 large storage drawers under rear double, storage shelves/cupboards in berh areas and shelves/drawers throughout kitchen area. Additional mini ‘garage’ storage at rear, perfect for tools and toys.
