Low Mileage High Spec Campervan project to finish

We brought the van the February before Covid and have struggled to get it finished, we have only used it a few times to stay away in and now we have a 1 year old it has sat for some time untouched. We have broken our emotional attachment and decided to sell, we would have liked to have finished the project but have run out of steam!

The van firstly is a great van, the fitout of it is good but as our first van we have learnt many lessons. We welcome inspections, its an impressive van but needs work to finish it, I have struggled with finishing the curves of the van and will include some pictures to demonstrate.

I am 6ft 2″ and can stand in the van no problem and the van can be parked in supermarket spaces. The van is spacious inside, the sleeping space area is large (140cm x 180cm) and I can sleep fully extended no problem. There are some quirks with the bed for getting it in and out but does not cause us any problems.

Once finished it will be a instagram pleaser I am sure.

The good points:
Insulation
Fully insulated with 1. Noico 80 mil (2 mm) 18 sqft (1.7 sqm) car Sound deadening mat, Butyl Automotive Sound Deadener, Audio Noise Insulation and dampening 2. Armaflex ACE self-adhesive insulating mats, 6 mm insulation rubber & Eko Roll loft insulation, this was sealed off with a final layer of player of moisture barrier.

Solar power
Perlight 320 Watt Mono panel – black
Ring RSCDC30 DC To DC Smart Battery Charger 30amp – Charges via the solar panel or via the alternator when driving, switches independently depending on the greater voltage
12V 230AH Bosch Silver power frame leisure battery (L5080)
Pure Sine Wave Inverter 300W 12Vdc
– We calculated the battery use for being on the road for a month (when we didn’t have a baby) so we could charge phones, laptops and a use a fridge.

Windows
Dometic Mini Heki Style Rooflight – with fixed ventilation for roof thickness 43 – 60mm
Passenger side sliding door with new window from Van Demons.

Gas Stove
Fitted but not connected to the gas bottle. Never been used. Would recommend installing dropout.

Large Sliding Double Futon Bed, there is plenty of storage under the bed accessed from the rear doors, some access is available under the interior seats.

Sitting and dining for at least 4 -6 people comfortable.

The van is light as we used ply for the sides rather than traditional wood battening.

The “bad” unfinished bits.
The switches for the lights need connecting in a better way.
The space under the kitchen need fitting out with draws or shelves. Some areas of the van are still exposed and needs finishing.
The cork tiles keep peeling of depending on the weather, I have tried various glues.
