The MPG is fantastic. I recently was short of a vehicle so needed to use this one-I did 400 miles and the MPG came out at an average of around 52mpg, pretty good!
These vans have a timing chain (rather than a cam belt) which don’t need replacing.

The conversion
We built the kitchen unit using birch ply and treated with high quality Osmo oil.
There is a removable Dometic cadac pro 2 burner hob, which is clearly stored under the worktop. Lift the extra work top flap, pull out the hob and you are able to cook inside the van OR spin the hob 180 degrees and you can cook standing up outside the van. Moreover remove the hob and cook outside on a camp table.
With loads of neat storage ideas there is plenty of space to store all your stuff. Both benches have huge areas underneath, 2 cupboards, a narrow “shove things” area, the taller section at the back is accessed via a sliding tambour door and houses a compact fridge with bluetooth control and USB socket. There is a big space under the seats where shoes or what ever else can be storage and accessed easily. There are storage nets, bungee cords and hooks dotted around to put all those “bits”.
2 side windows, one fixed and the window by the hob opens to allow steam and cooking smells out and fresh air in.
The van has been fully insulated and being a small space, should be pretty cosy even in the colder months. With down sleeping bags and hot water bottles you’ll easily survive a cold night!
Electrics.
100 Ah lithium battery with built in bluetooth to keep an eye on your battery level. This will run the lights alone for weeks. Using the fridge, USB and lights you’ll be good for at least 3 or 4 days.
Victron DC-DC 18amp charger. This will charge the battery about 4% for every 10 minutes of driving

A note about Lithium batteries (if you know your stuff, no need to read on)
Why are lithium batteries better?
1. They are lighter
2. You can discharge them to 0% with out damage (lead acid batteries only really have about 50% usable power of the batteries full capacity)
3. Some have built in bluetooth to allow you to see accurate real time battery information such as available capacity, charging status, battery health and more.
4. Faster charging
5. No drop in voltage as the capacity lowers.

The bed slides out to a very reasonable 120cm wide and 180cm long.
