Conversion Description

Sadly, we have only managed to use our lovely self-commissioned campervan half a dozen times before we now need to sell it (due to a change in circumstances). The van has been pre-approved by Quirky as a rental vehicle, and was going to be called Dorcas, but with us now needing to sell we’ve not yet had her weighed, or gas checked (or christened!)

The van has 3 belted seats, so there’s plenty of room up front and it’s a lovely comfortable, easy drive. With a 2.2 engine it drives well on country lanes and motorways alike and easily copes with our local hills! Being a MWB means it’s not too long to manoeuvre through towns or villages and the rear-view camera makes reversing safely a cinch.

The van is well kitted out with everything you need for either an off – grid adventure or, if that’s not your thing, can be easily hooked up on a site.
The solar panel on the roof powers 2 x leisure batteries for off grid trips, with the sun doing its stuff and the engine topping up the batteries as you drive to your destination. We’ve never yet needed to hook up and have always had enough power for a few days away, with plenty to spare!

The van is also fitted with an inverter (to switch to 230v) should you want to hook up, a diesel heater, and hot and cold water. It has upgraded insulation, keeping the van cool when it’s warm, or nice and toasty when the nights get chilly. A Flamma wind-out awning provides additional space to sit and enjoy the scenery.

There is a kitchen pod with a Smev sink, a double hob (run off a camping gas cylinder safely secured in a locker), a fridge, and a fold out table for extra workspace. Opposite the kitchen area there’s a small seating area with single flexi spotlight (my husband likes to stay up later than me and has been able to sit there at night to read without disturbing me!)
Burnt orange upholstered U shaped bench seats at the rear of the van provide plenty of seating and the removable table is big enough for eating, board games, spreading out the papers, whatever you want to do!

This area easily converts to a bed at night, with a small seat by the kitchen custom-made to fold out, extending the bed space if required. This allows you to either sleep across the back of the van in a small double bed space (keeping the seat as is), or to fold it out to sleep lengthways, giving masses of space that easily sleeps two adults and a child (or large lurcher in our case!). Even extended, you still have enough room to visit the loo in the night or get to the stove for a cuppa in the morning.
The van is also fitted with a large shower room with hot water and a Thetford port-a-loo.

We have had plenty of sockets and USB points fitted, and there’s lots of storage space for all your stuff: with kitchen cupboards, under seat storage, overhead and over-cab cupboards.
Included in the price will be the electric hook up cables, the hose for filling the water tank, front window blinds, and some of the custom-made furnishings (all, obviously, virtually brand new).

It’s a real shame we won’t now be able to get to know Dorcas better, but we’re now hoping she’ll find a good new home!
