The Conversion — Built to Live In, Not Just Travel
This is not a weekend camper. This is a high-specification, professionally assisted family conversion built to sustain comfortable off-grid living for days at a time — and it shows in every detail.
Electrical System — Seriously Powerful: The electrical backbone of this van is exceptional. A 500W flexible solar panel feeds a 300Ah lithium battery bank, backed by 240V mains hookup and a DC-DC charger (B2B) that intelligently recharges the battery directly from the engine while driving. A 2,000W inverter means you can run full-size appliances wherever you are. 8 USB charging points are distributed throughout the van, and dimmable LED lighting can be independently controlled zone by zone — the kind of detail that makes a real difference at the end of a long day with kids. This system will comfortably run everything on board for five or more days without hookup, solar conditions permitting.
Kitchen: The kitchen is designed for real cooking, not camping food. A gas hob delivers proper flame cooking, while a generous 70-litre electric compressor fridge keeps food fresh for the whole family. All branded, quality appliances throughout (Victron, Renogy, …)
Water System: A 120-litre fresh water tank feeds hot and cold taps throughout — enough for several days of family use. The system is heated on demand via a gas water heater, so hot water is always available whether you’re washing up or heading to the shower. There is no grey water tank; drainage is managed externally.
Bathroom: The bathroom is a clever dual-purpose space. Day-to-day it houses a composting dry toilet — hygienic, odourless, and genuinely practical for families. When you need it, the space fully converts into a shower room, fed by the same hot water system. Clean, private, and self-contained. Otherwise, it’s more kitchen space for cooking.
Connectivity: A 4G dual-SIM router provides reliable WiFi throughout the van — keeping the family connected whether you’re parked on a French hillside or a Spanish coast road. Two SIMs means automatic failover between networks for maximum coverage across Europe.
Storage: Storage has been thought through for family life — generous, organised, and accessible. Everything has a place, so the living space stays liveable even after weeks on the road.
Build Quality: The conversion was carried out in 2020 with professional input on the key structural elements — the pop-top roof, windows, and interior carpentry. This is a bespoke build, not a kit conversion, and the quality of finish reflects that. Insulation is made of projected cork and sheep wool. It has since been battle-tested across a full year of European touring with a family on board, covering over 20,000 miles across all road types and conditions without a single issue.
Sleeping — 4 Berths
This van sleeps four in genuine comfort, made possible by the signature SCA pop-top roof — a rare and sought-after feature on a van of this size.
Adults (x2): A full 140 x 200 cm double bed in the elevated pop-top roof — spacious, private, and with excellent headroom when raised
Children (x2): Dedicated bunk beds at the rear, each 80 cm wide and accommodating children up to 162 cm in length. Purpose-built and solid, not a fold-out compromise
The pop-top not only unlocks the adult sleeping space but also dramatically increases the living area adding a new room upstairs where you can seat
