2010 Ford Transit (mk7) 330 140ps.
Its been very reliable on its journey to Nordkapp (inside the Arctic Circle) all through the Balkans, and across the Med into Morroco. Since this big adventure in 2015, it had a few outings to France and the odd trip to the Isle of Skye. Before we purchased it in 2015, it did sterling work carrying around generators. I mention this because 1) the firm it belonged to knew how to look after diesel engines and 2) it has no trouble going up hills (many a time on the continent, a car would pull out to overtake just before an incline, only to have to pull in again because this camper doesn’t lose speed)
This van is equipped with IKEA Metod kitchen cabinets with a custom made worktop, providing ample storage and stylish, minimalist design. Triple insulation ensures that you’re comfortable in any weather, with foam-backed gold foil, recycled bottle loft insulation, and foil bubble insulation throughout. The walls are lined with automotive carpet for a luxurious feel, while the floor is insulated with 5mm polystyrene underlay and foil bubble insulation and finished with hard-wearing vinyl on 9mm epoxy sealed OSB.

We’ve even removed the bulkhead and replaced it with a curtain, so you can enjoy an open and airy feeling throughout the van. Two 12v Banner 110ah Energy Bull Ultra Deep Cycle Caravan Leisure Batteries (new Jan 22) and two 100w solar panels on the roof keep you powered up and ready for adventure. The Victron Energy 15-50amp MPPT Solar charger/controller and 1000w inverter make charging your devices and running appliances on the go easy.
Our van is fully equipped for cooking and dining, with a Smev 9222 Twin Hob, Sink Combination Unit connected to a 907 gas canister, a 25l fresh water tank with submersible pump, and a 20l waste tank connected to the sink. The NVOX K35P 12/240v compressor fridge (which can even be used as a freezer!) keeps your food and drinks fresh and cool.
