Tui’s conversion was inspired by a couple of long campervan trips made in New Zealand between 2018 and 2020. The van is fully insulated with a mix of rockwool and “Kingspan” type 25mm foam board making it nice and warm in the winter and keeping it cool in the summer. The walls and ceiling have been clad with pine tongue and groove slats and painted with Little Green paint. Four windows and a roof vent have been installed to let in plenty of light. The furniture has all been handcrafted out of 15mm birch plywood providing ample storage. The battery charges while driving and via solar panels enabling it to go completely off grid. The fully equipped kitchen includes a large fridge and a two ring gas hob allowing the user to cook as if they were at home. The large U-shape sofa and handmade wooden table gives maximum comfort during the day and transforms into a very large bed that will guarantee a great night of sleep.

BED/LIVING AREA:
The living area is a large U-shape sofa with a large dining table that can easily fit 5 people. This quickly converts into a very large and comfortable bed (170cmx190cm). The cushions are made up of 12.5cm foam and have been professionally upholstered.
The windows are all fitted with black out curtains.
There is also a very efficient diesel heater that heats up the space in less than 10 minutes and includes a control panel to adjust the temperature.
ELECTRICS:
The leisure battery is charged while you’re driving as well as through the solar panels. Mains hook up is also available that powers two standard 3 pin plugs.

This van drives really nicely with plenty of power. It has been all over the country from Cornwall to the Outer-Hebrides in Scotland without issue.
Tui is currently based in Crediton but I can easily organise viewing in Exeter or within a reasonable distance further away.
As well as being for personal use Tui has also been rented out through Quirky Campers which has provided a nice extra income. If renting it out is of interest I can also provide all the extra equipment required to make it ready to rent (bedding, cutlery, crokery,…).
The U-shape dining area transforms quickly into a massive 170cmx190cm double bed.
