Hello ,ok I purchased the the van off my late brother’s estate, he bought the van from new from VW , he wanted a camper van and got a company to do the project, Unfortunately life turns , he decided life was too much for him.
When things eventually became clear I decided to buy his van off the executors, I wanted to carry on his dream , he commissioned a company to do the the conversion, but to my horror the work that was done was terrible and dangerous, I don’t think that he realised this, so I decided to rip everything out and start again, so the story begins, very emotional for me to undertake this job on, luckily I have a few good talented friends who would help me on this journey, firstly the design, I wanted wood , old wood, Pitch pine, recycled old Victorian pine floor boards for the ceiling , which I bought and machined down to desired depth and patina, bingo , yep good 😊 So before that I had to think about insulation, I went for sheep’s wool and membrane, job done , wiring for lighting installed, next was the main electrics, not my bag I’m a decorator, good at finishing, not electrical stuff, I have a very talented friend , who also is a electrician, but very talented who designs electrical systems on Hovercraft’s, so with a bit of battering , I painted his house, he designed and installed everything electrical, using high end hardware 😊
I designed the van for myself and my partner, so wanted a comfortable bed , I opted for a bespoke bed frame , and sprung slats , married to a Ikea memory foam Mattress , a good friend made the wooden cabinets for me, which houses the porta loo.

Absolutely loved being and driving this boy, but the journey of building him was the journey, so I think he needs to travel on and be loved by the new caretaker .
