It has a new professionally installed 1896cc diesel engine with just 7262 miles after the change, plus a new clutch kit and alternator fitted whilst the engine block was removed.
With a 5 speed manual gearbox, we are averaging about 45mpg on a long run.
The body work has a few blemishes but very little in the way of rust spots. For the age of the vehicle, the bodywork is in very good condition.
There is a full parts and service history from the date we purchased the van as a new professionally built conversion in November 2014.
The MOT expiry is 25.09.2025.
At the rear, it has 2 barn doors for access and the sliding side door has an internal step.
There are 2 electronic keys.
A jack and tyre changing kit with the spare tyre under the back door.
All 4 tyres are in excellent condition with VW hub caps.
A professionally built conversion in 2014 with the van being fully equipped to go off-grid.
With the leisure battery being charged through the engine, whilst motoring, the battery is continually being charged and will keep going. If parked up for a number of days, we have found that the battery could last upto 3 days before external hook-up or starting the engine for a period, is required.
There is an underslung 40lt water tank, with a locking filler cap, and is connected to the sink unit with an electric pump.
The sink unit is by Dometic and has a single rotating and lift up tap and a toughened black glass lift up lid.
The cooker is by Smev with two gas rings on an easy clean stainless steel base, and with a matching toughened black glass lift up lid.
Under the cooker, is an electronic ignition Dometic Grill.
Under the sink, is a Indel B fridge with ice box compartment. With it’s 12 and 24v power supply, it makes it especially versatile. The power supply can either be a battery, a transformer/external hook-up or a photo-voltaic panel. Provided with a totally watertight compressor, it offers a minimal power consumption and noise level and works even if parked at an angle.
A gas powered under seat Heatsource HS2000 heater with Propex automatic ignition, thermostatic controls & safe switch off.
There are 5 separate lighting areas; blue insect lights above the sliding door when opened, main roof area, above the bed, in the pop-top roof area and under the lockers above the work top.
All the electrics above are through the Power Management System PMS3H. 230Volt AC Earth leakage Protection, Over current Protection and Reverse Polarity Indication. 13.8 Volt DC fully stabilised power supply/battery charger with Short circuit and over-current Protection, Constant current limit @ 12A, 4 fused outputs, Battery condition meter, Battery change over switch and pump isolation switch.
Being a LWB gives great storage space with 4 cupboards and 2 draws under an impressive 2m long work top above which are 3 lockers. The construction of the rock and roll bed frame gives a large and through storage area under the seat/bed (doors front and back) and there is another large tall cupboard/wardrobe at the rear next to the bed. Under this there is a small gas safe cupboard with floor vent.
The rock and roll bead is easy to pull out and lift back in and measures 1.9m long x 1.2 wide and is made from a firm mattress material for a comfy seat and sleep. There are also 2 seat belts attached to this.
Black out windows are throughout with blackout curtains. There is a sliding opening window above the sink area.
The pop-up roof bed measures 1.9m long and 1.1m wide and is of hard planking so will need a sleep mat or similar. There is a lift up section of 0.3m so when not in use, this can be lifted up to give a bit more head room.
The pop-top is well sprung so that the canvas sides are nice and taut. The canvas has been regularly treated with water repellent, and although there are a few patches of tape over some old scags, we have never had any water egress; and we have been out in some atrocious weather. On the front of the pop-top is a clear perspex screen/window which can be closed off if required and an insect screened vent above.
A fold away table is stored between the work top and the drivers seat, along with the fire extinguisher. The table then secures onto a bar just under the work top which means it can easily be moved forwards or backwards
The front passenger seat rotates but not the drivers. With just 2 front seats, this gives ample space as a walk through between from cabin and the camper area.
There is a Kenwood radio with Digital and Analog radio, CD, USB, iPod and Bluetooth. There is a full speaker system in the cab and in the rear above the bed.
