We originally chose Homesmith Campers to convert our LWB Mercedes Sprinter because of the quality of their work, and the organisation of their projects. We were not disappointed: the final van conversion is a dream and the envy of our family and friends, and the process was really, really enjoyable. The final design was a mix of what we wanted, and their input of years of experience of van living and building.
When we approached them, James and Sarah had a waiting list, and gave us exact start and end dates, which they stuck to. They started to help us 6 months before, however, when we were looking for a van to buy. James took us around an existing van and told us what to look out for and where. Overall they have been, and continue to be, incredibly helpful — customer service second to none.
Once we were near the project start date, they supplied us with a link to a shared spreadsheet, with all the costs of individual items and their labour costs. This gave us a very detailed breakdown of the budget. When things were bought, the spreadsheet was updated. We were able to see where we could make savings, and where we could splash out. The project finished under budget.
James and Sarah work in close partnership with a number of other companies, all of whom have similar high standards and quality. These included the soft furnishings, and extras such as additional external locks on the van doors. Again, James and Sarah advised us on what the options were.
We have just returned from a 2 week trip around the UK in winter. The van was a dream, and we can’t wait to go again.
Rasamara is just the most wonderful thing ever. We love her.
