Renault Master lo-loader LWB
THE VAN
Renault Master lo-loader 2.5 turbo diesel 120hp,
Registered Nov 2010, CU60 PWZ
Currently on 225k miles,
4.5m long box,
Passed its MOT last month with now advisories,
We are the second owners, the first was a window manufacturer who had 5 lo-loaders for deliveries,
Full main dealer service history until we got it at 195k and then looked after by our local mechanic,
Serviced roughly every 25k miles from new,
Fully reconditioned 6 speed gearbox, new clutch and master cylinder at 205k miles,
New cam belt with a major service in Nov 2019 (less than 1k miles ago),
Zero rust, the cab is galvanised and the box is ali,
Tyres 95% tread
There are a few small dents on the box but nothing that stands out,
Walk through into the back,
Only known fault is that the fuel guage only works in the top half, it sticks when the tank get to half full, (can be sorted depending on the negotiated price),
Returns around 32mpg on the motorway and around 27 on A roads,
Handles really well for a big van because of the low center of gravity,
It happily sits at 70 on the motorway with plenty more to go,
Double passenger seat,
Air con,
Elec windows,
Elec Mirrors,
CD Player,
It is a good, clean, honest van, it has high miles but it has all the paperwork to back up its history, it is smooth, it pulls well, there are no rattles or squeaks, it drives like the day it came out of the factory. I would happily drive it in to Europe without a second thought.
THE CONVERSION
We built this van for all year round self sufficiency, for the first 4 years of ownership we spent 3 nights a week, every week in it, we then spent a few months living in it in 2019 whilst waiting for our house to be ready, since then is has been used about 10 nights in the 18 months.
Fully insulated with 50mm kingspan, floors, walls and ceiling,
Static caravan double glazed windows, good for winter use,
Fixed double bed over massive boot,
2 small Fiamma roof windows and a massive Heki over the lounge,
Removable table, plenty of space to have 4 for dinner, 6 at squeeze,
2 x 140ah leisure batteries (new in November),
200w solar panel,
Epaver Tracer MMPT solar controller,
Victron 2 way split charge, directs solar to the van battery once the leisure batteries are full,
No 240v hook up but there is a smart battery charger that we run a RCD protected extension cable to through the boot when the van is parked up,
Morco F11e instant hot water heater, proper room sealed and designed for mobile use, not a cheap chinese one,
Gasit 11KG refillable LPG gas bottle,
100ltr fresh and waste water tanks,
Sink with oak herringbone work top,
Vitrifrigo compressor fridge,
Dometic oven, grill and triple hob,
4KW genuine Russian Autoterm Planar Heater,
There is space for a log burner but we decided to keep the floor space,
Full shower room with a heater outlet which doubles up as a drying room,
Simploo composting toilet,
External gas BBQ point,
USB and 12v sockets,
Massive cupboard above the cab, 2 big drawers under the sofa and plenty of drawers in the kitchen,
Fire extinguisher, fire blanket, smoke alarm and co2 alarm,
Pull our side step,
This van would make a great live in camper for somebody, all ready to move in. We have used this van down to minus 7 and have always been warm and comfortable.
I am sure there are some things I have missed, some of the pictures aren’t the best but they were the only one I had in my phone, I can get more pictures if needed. I have a few small jobs to do on the interior before it goes but that should only take a day or 2.
We don’t really want to sell but it seems sad that it isn’t getting used much, if it doesn’t go we will happily keep it. When we built it we lived in the city and came to the Lake District every weekend, now we have moved to the Lakes so we don’t have many reasons to use it.
Fixed double bed over rear boot, 2m long x 1.4m wide,
The seating are could be used for another single berth.
