Sore points:
– Unroadworthy
– Chassis requires welding work
– Offside rear brake and disk require work
– No MOT
This van is currently unroadworthy, it needs £2,000–£3,000 worth of welding and the offside rear brake needs attention due to excessive oil leak (As sighted by MOT qualified garage and mechanic)
The story:
We bought this van in February this year. After purchase we discovered through a garage health check that the chassis required welding work and they also highlighted an offside break issue which looks to have been the same long standing issue from the 2023 MOT – We suspect that the last 2 MOTs we’re fraudulently obtained – Fair to say we we’re ripped off – Subsequently we decided to SORN the vehicle unable to folk out for the repairs and have been using it as a living space at our family home hence why we’re advertising it as such.
We’re decent people who don’t want to mislead and want to be transparent about the vans condition as we really suffered this year as this was meant to be our spring and summer get away vehicle. We’re selling now because it doesn’t have any value for us, if we owned land or a sufficient drive way we would turn this into an air bnb.
It’s a shame the underside lets it down because otherwise the van’s conversion and mechanics are in great shape. The engine starts first time, runs and drives well apart from the slow to stop breaking. We advise only to drive to a lock up or garage with care.
The good bits:
– Top tier electrical system (high standard install)
– Mechanically sound other than areas raised
– Full functioning off-grid camper van
– Spacious and practical living space
If you’re handy or looking for a project van, there’s real potential to get it back on the road. Or, if you want a ready-made tiny home / Airbnb space it’s already a charming set up.
