📊📐LAYOUT
I wanted to make the layout as spacious as possible, whilst having everything in it needed for living off grid. The drivers and double passenger seats can swivel to enable the seats to also be used within the living area. Seating three people comfortably whilst driving with seat belts and four people sitting in the lounge position.

🪚🔨 CONSTRUCTION:
I am a qualified Carpenter/Joiner with 12yrs experience and have taken this van from standard to a very high spec conversion.
It’s been very well insulated and sound proofed. As the cab is open it’s got removable thermal blinds on the inside of the glass and an outside thermal polar blanket for the extra cold climates. All the walls and dividing walls are clad in 9mm or 12mm birch ply to keep the vehicle lightwieght and strong. Ceiling is constructed from 125mm x12mm pine planks stained in walnut. The suspended bed is constructed with 150mm x 25mm pine planks upright for extra strength with removable ply slats which allows for loads of storage under the bed. All the doors and drawer fronts are made from 18mm moisture resistant mdf. Worktop and table is beachblock 27mm thick stained in walnut to match the ceiling. All white surfaces have have 3 coats of paint with a final oil based coat for easy cleaning and hard wearing.

⚡️💡 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:
The camper van contains a Victron 12V system, with 2 x 140W solar panels and 2 x 125Ah leisure batteries allowing the capability to live off grid out in the wilderness for months. The leisure batteries are also charged via the van inverter when the engine is running. But it will never drain the van battery when the leisure batteries are low.
The Victron system has a battery monitor which can also be linked to a smart phone. This provides information on the status of your leisure batteries. It also has a 230V hook up for campsites and home use so the batteries can be recharged. This also allows the Truma heater to operate at full capacity. There is also a socket circuit which can be used to power larger appliances. There are two USB 13A sockets which are supplied via the inverter and can be used to power smaller electrical appliances.
The downlights are touch sensitive and can be dimmed up and down. LED strips are located under the cupboards to provide a softer light.
All electrics installed and tested by a Qualified Electrician and designed by Nomadic Energy electrical system.

🔥🚰 HEATING AND WATER SYSTEM:
I’ve installed the Truma 4e Combi Boiler which blows hot air around the camper and stores hot water in one unit. It runs off two fuel sources, LPG gas and mains electric. With five different combination settings. Has a 91L fresh water tank and 65L grey water tank underslung. Plus another 95L fresh water tank inside the garage area when living in freezing cold environments. A two ring gas hob combo with a hot and cold tap over the sink. Two powerful showers, one inside the van and one outside hung on the back doors for them sandy days on the beach.
All plumbing, heating and gas appliances tested by a qualified Heating Engineer.

🚿 🚽 SHOWER/WC AREA:
Shower tray 820L x 660W x 1850H with a retractable shower blind. When shower is not in use a removable lightweight compost toilet can be placed in the shower tray. Whilst showering the toilet can be stored in the garage through a small doorway. A removable hanging rail to hang wet clothes or towels is very handy. One of the heating outlets will dry your gear lovely and warm by the morning! The skylight lets natural light in whilst showering and expels moisture when drying.

🍽️ KITCHEN/DINING:
Handcrafted bespoke space-saving units. Combo sink and 2 ring hob unit with fold down glass lids. Large 95L fridge and 6 large drawers underneath the worktop. The worktop is 1600mm long, but can be extended by another 550mm with fold down brackets that can double up as another table. With upper wall cupboards above and over the seating area adds loads of storage for dry food or clothing etc.

🚲🎿 GARAGE:
This area is mainly accessible from the back doors, or a small door from the living area. It’s big enough for two mountain bikes or any other equipment, like a 7’2 surfboard diagonal across the rear doors. While having the Combi boiler, gas box and water tank fixed at the sides, it’s still a massive storage area of 910h x 1400d x 1300w.

⛱️ AWNING outside area:
Flamma F40s 3.7L x 2.2W x 2.4H , it’s a great extension to the van, rain or shine you still enjoy the outside space. A gas bbq hook up point mounted at the rear side allows you to cook outside without carrying another gas canister out the van. Also two external strip lights to light up under the awning.

📺 PORTABLE PROJECTOR TV SCREEN:
It’s a great feature for the camper, which takes up little space and having it in multiple positions on the van. On the inside of the sliding door when sitting in the living area. On the wall unit when laying in bed. Or if it’s a summers evening you can project it onto the outside of the campervan in the night sky!

☀️ ROOF DECK:
From the ladder at the back you can climb up to sit or sunbathe on the cedar decking. The extra roof bars are mounted higher than the solar panels to stop long sports equipment ie surf boards or kayaks to be stored without damaging the solar panels. The roof deck is a great place to chill out in the sunshine or under the night stars!

🏔️🏖️ I’ve used the van in all weather conditions this year, from surfing down in cold Cornwall for a weekend in January, two months in freezing Austria skiing, a month in warm Italy and finally up to the Lake District and Wales over two weeks. It’s sad for me to put Peggie up for sale as I put my heart and soul into making it unique and suitable for all outdoor pursuits, hobbies or interests. The reason I’m selling is because I’m moving to New Zealand at the end of the year to live and convert another camper. I hope Peggie goes to a great new owner 🙂
