Located in Lochgilphead, Scotland.

A much-loved classic motorhome that needs some work, but has a lot of potential for someone with the time and vision to take it on.

The engine runs well and still has plenty of life left in it. Inside, it’s fitted with a gas hob, oven, 9L water boiler, and a fridge that runs on gas, mains or battery. It also has a gas heater fitted, which kept us cosy on colder nights. There’s a large solar panel, inverter and battery charger all wired up to a leisure battery – handy if you’re thinking off-grid. There’s also loads of built-in storage throughout, making it practical for longer trips or full-time use once restored.

We took it on a few short trips around the UK and had some great wee adventures in it. There’s something a bit magical about travelling in a van like this the old-school design, the slower pace, the feeling of being properly away from it all. The internal layout is quite unique too – really open and spacious for its size, which made it feel more like a small cabin than a van. We were always comfortable in it, even on longer drives or rainy nights.

A few things to be aware of:

The van isn’t currently roadworthy – the brakes need a full overhaul. I was quoted around 1,500 for the job, so it’ll need to be towed or transported. This has been taken into consideration when pricing the motorhome.

There’s a leak in the front roof section, behind the driver’s seat which has caused damp in parts of the floor and wall. Could be patched short-term, or stripped and redone properly

It would suit someone looking for a van to fully strip out and rebuild into their own space – whether that’s for off-grid travel, weekend getaways, a re-sale project for profit. There’s a lot of potential here for the right person.

I’m sure this lovely old lady has many years of life yet to offer someone and I’m in no hurry to sell. Open to sensible offers and happy to answer questions!

Chris
