2007 Ford Transit Campervan

Here for sale is Betty, our much loved Ford Transit Campervan.

If you are looking for a brand new pristine van then this is not the van for you but if want a van to go on adventures and make memories for life then this campervan may be for you.

Betty is a mark 7 Ford Transit van with aged related “character marks” including slight dints, paint scuffs and in true transit style the odd patch of rust. I won’t list all of these but all should be visible on the photos. One I will explain is the paint mark on the back door which resulted from the previous owner accidently spraying expanding foam on the back door and touching the paint up.

We have done some minor welding during our ownership for MOT’s in common Transit areas (front steps, inner front arches and sills).

The van is a manual TDCI T280 2.2 litre Ford Transit (registered in 2007) which runs well, is comfortable to drive and has clocked approximately 174,354 miles. (Mileage may go up slightly as vehicle still in use). The MOT is valid until November 2025. The wheels have been upgraded to 18 inch Cobra Alloy wheels.

We purchased this van part converted in 2020 and have added a few bits since then. It was an ex-builders van converted by the builder who had driven the van from new. The interior is well insulated and has the benefit of an Eberspacher Airtronic diesel heater installed which keeps the van toasty on a winter adventure.

There is a Dometic Smev 8821 Hob and Sink combination unit with a smoked glass lid, detachable pan for easy cleaning, an integrated lid with heat resistant safety glass, separate stainless steel cover for the burner unit and Piezo ignition with a safety ignition system. The gas bottle which powers this is included within the sale, it’s a 4.5kg Butane Calor Gas bottle. There is a tap fitted with a pump located in a 10 litre water jerry can, again this is included.

There is a leisure battery with a 12 volt split charger which powers multiple USB ports to charge devices. The leisure battery also has the facility to be charged by the mains (not hook up). There are also full internal LED spotlights which can be dimmed by a remote control.

There is a tinted side door window with a black out cover, together with a blackout curtain which clips to the bulkhead for privacy/a good nights sleep.

The bed is a double bed which is made up as the photos hopefully show.

There is plenty of storage including over the cab, under the seats/bed and in the cabinets shown. We have done many full week road trips in this van and found it has plenty of storage if you plan it right. Photos of the cupboards with items in are to give some idea of space but contents not included!

The front windows have Heko wind defectors fitted which allows you to leave the window slightly open to allow ventilation.

There is also a UK Custom Covers window cover which fits to the outside windscreen and side windows included within the sale, we have only used it once and in the snow so don’t have a decent photo of it on.

Optional extra (free of charge) is a windscreen wind defector/sun visor, we had to take it off to have the windscreen replaced which had cracked and have not got round to re-fitting it. Photos available on request.

We have had so many adventures in this trusty little van and will be truly sad to see her go but hoping she will be a good starter van to bring the same happiness to others and continue adventuring. We are only selling due to upgrading.
