For sale is my 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 313 CDI, manual diesel, converted into a high-quality, fully off-grid campervan.

The van has covered only 49,618 miles and I am the second owner. It has been converted with a very strong focus on build quality, reliability, off-grid capability and design. I originally built it for myself rather than for resale, so I chose premium components throughout rather than building to a budget.

The conversion has had very little use since completion and the van is now being sold simply because my circumstances have changed and I am not using it enough.

One of the strongest parts of the conversion is the electrical system, which was deliberately oversized for extended off-grid use.

Heating

Professionally installed AUTOTERM 2kW diesel air heater.

It draws diesel directly from the Sprinter’s main fuel tank, so there is no separate diesel container to fill.

The heater is controlled from inside the living area and makes the van suitable for year-round use.

The van has a very large fresh-water system designed for extended off-grid trips.

The interior has a very clean Scandinavian / contemporary feel and a lot of time went into the design and detailing.

Huge rear garage / sports storage

A major feature is the full-width storage area beneath the bed.

It was specifically designed around windsurfing equipment and can accommodate approximately:

There is also enough central storage space to take a wingfoil board alongside the windsurf equipment.

Even for a non-windsurfer, the garage provides a huge amount of storage for bikes, climbing gear, surf equipment, luggage or other outdoor equipment.

The fixed bed remains permanently usable while all of this equipment is stored underneath.

Maintenance & history

The van has an unusually low mileage for its age at only 49,618 miles.

It comes with maintenance records and invoices, including documentation for many of the components used in the conversion.

It was serviced in December 2025, when the starter battery was also replaced and the windscreen renewed.

MOT valid until 17 April 2027.

The tyres have covered very little mileage since fitting because the van itself has been used very little.

About the conversion

This was a personal project and a huge amount of thought went into both the engineering and the design.

The objective was to create a camper capable of genuinely extended off-grid use, hence the unusually large 280Ah lithium battery, approximately 430W of solar, Victron electrical equipment, 150L fresh-water capacity, diesel heating and hot-water system.

It was not built cheaply for resale and the quality of the components reflects that.

Unfortunately, since completing it I simply haven’t used it enough to justify keeping it, so I would rather it went to someone who will actually use it.
